Do the long life insecticides which are required for flights to NZ also get them?

Yes, my one and only flight on NZ so far (in the same "barn stall" J). There was a ton of trash (mostly food remnants) in every crevice of my seat(s - I tried 2 different ones, as the flight was not very full, both equally dirty), and I ended up being severely bitten by bed bugs. Never seen anything like that before or since with any airline, but I am hoping that was a fluke somehow.
P.S. The crew was friendly. However my trip to Japan was def. spoiled.
I took a few photos - mostly of the cabin and the food (looks ok, don't remember much) but also one of the seat side area, attaching here.

Ok, so one flight down. Don't think there were bed bugs this time (although the seat was still pretty dirty). Food was good, crew tried hard to be friendly, as previously.
As an added bonus to the barn stall design (something I did not realize the last time), neighbor's feet are right next to the table, adding a kind of a special aroma to the meal (see photos). Might change my seat to the last row for the next flight just to avoid that.
