PS: just had a look at seatguru which now features a cabin plan for AF's A388. The plan looks more or less normal but the info chart looks odd. They claim suites in premiere and flat beds (not lie flats as on AF's other planes) in Affaires. seat pitch looks smaller in Affaires (55" instead of 61") than on the 77W, but seat width in both La Premiere and Affaires looks massively superior (35" and 34" instead of 24" and 21"5 respectively in the 77W!!) Am I missing something or has this been written by a wishful thinker?
And, as well as the dubious description of the F and J seats, there is at least one mistake: the starboard seats in Affaires are actually K-L, not J-K as shown. At least, I hope they are, because I'm booked in 60L and I really don't want to be to the right of the starboard window (it gets pretty cold at cruising altitude, and very windy at cruising speed)!
And still no explanation of why 4 seats are missing from row 64.

Just saw this, might be of interest:
"...AF said it will rationalize its Latin American and Asian flights, implement transatlantic efficiencies thanks to its joint venture with Delta Air Lines and reduce frequencies to New York JFK, Dubai and Johannesburg. It will serve those three destinations daily with its first three A380s, which are scheduled to enter service on Nov. 23 to JFK, Jan. 18 to DXB and in early March to JNB. Capacity will increase to Havana and Punta Cana and will remain unchanged on Indian Ocean routes..."

Sound good to me. I can't wait to see A380 will be introduction service for CDG-JFK by next couple months later. I can't wait to see her in person. What about the cabin seat configuration? Do you know how many passengers capacity on operated A380?

If they will ever try to bring more demand out CDG or AMS-LAX/SFO/JFK. It will be there in the future. Let's speculating that KL, UA, EK, SQ need to take the advantage of it. It should have more console up to start developed to get brand newest A380-900 series. A380-900 need to have increase the range 10,000nm to become nonstop from CDG-SYD due to payload weight restricted. I think it will have less cargo and bring it up more baggage into the cargo hold. I think it will be possibilities to get A380-900 or 1000 series. It will be almost more than 1,000 passengers capacity.

538 seats in total. More than now operated (EK has 489, shall have 517 this year), fewer than LH and EK shall have (LH 550, EK 604).
The breakdown: 9 F seats, 1-2-1 main deck in front of M2 doors; 80 business class seats, 2-2-2 upper deck in front of U2 doors (it is not flatbed, about 60 inches pitch), and 449 coach, including 106 on upper deck, back of U2, 8 abreast, and 343 on main deck, back of M2, 10 abreast.

A380-800 already has 538 main deck seats. A380-900 needs 6 pairs of main deck doors to have over 550 seats there.
It is easier to build A380-800R or A380-700.
By great circle, CDG-SYD is 16 942 km. CDG-NOU is 16 683 km. CDG-PPT is 15 715 km. The longest existing airline route is SIN-EWR, 15 345 km. The longest A380 route is LAX-MEL, 12 748 km.
The first 3 AF A380 shall have no Premium Voyageur until their interior (delivered by Airbus as originally ordered by AF back when AF had no PV class) gets worn out and due for refit. From 4th frame, a new interior including premium economy has been ordered.

First A380 flies into CDG today :-)
Just watched a report on French TV (France 2), incl. a live link from HAM. The first A380 ("Juliette Alpha", they said) is being officially delivered to AF today. It is scheduled to fly (from HAM) into its base at CDG this afternoon.

Hi all,
To add to the high passenger load for Air Reunion, the A380 will also be flying from an airport where, should there be any problem, you end up in the marina:

Il faut rappeler ici que la présence d’une marina à l’extrémité de la piste de décollage de Gillot est un danger potentiel. L’OACI recommande pourtant que les pistes soient pourvues d’une aire de sécurité sans d’obstacles longue de 300m à leurs extrémités
One must remember that the presence of a marina at the end of the Guillot runway is a potential danger. The OACI recommends that all runways should have a security zone of at least 300 m at their extremities.
