So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Phew that is steep! (CAD$1470)

I wonder how many seats in J are saved for LMU on ONLCI rather then giving them away to SE then E for upgrades?? Obviously if what they save for a LMU is not taken then they give those to wait listed for their upgrade. But how many do they save during that 7 and 4 day window????

AY has confirmed that the wait list is always cleared before LMU are offered.

Friend was offered SFO YVR for $99 on 10/14/2011 (AC 565) and took it. Said J was wide open. Likely everyone moving their flights due to the almost strike. Normally the LMU offer for this flight is much higher.

Oct 10 YYZ-YHZ AC620 $289.00 Was on Tango fare-declined

Oct 12 YHZ-YYZ AC1131 $369.00 Was on Tango Fare-declined

Not sure why the increase on the way back especially since the flight was oversold. Offered to be VDB, MY OFFER was accepted, re-routed YHZ-YUL-YYZ, $200 travel voucher, upgraded to J Only arrived in YYZ 1 hour later than originally planned.

That's one instance of a domestic LMU I'd actually buy.

don't LMUs and eupgrades both come out of the R bucket? IF the system works, eupgrades should have cleared first, unless R=1 and everyone on the list were pairs
