Seating for two at exec first
My spouse and I are on the YYZ-ZRH exec first. For the time being we have 3A and 4A.... from looking at the published pictures I could not see any advantage selecting 3F 3K since it would be as awkward to have a conversation with your traveling companion....
Do you have any advice for seating on the 767 XMed version exec first for people traveling together?

I think A is better, since you have the wall across the aisle and not looking at someone else when you turn around to talk to her... I'd say it's a good choice!

I prefer 8 F-K as it is at rear of cabin and IMO,does offer an opportunity to talk.To my surprise,Mrs.acysb87 did enjoy the overnight to MUC and slept well.
We had seats 6A-7A on a Caribbean flight and I was always twisted around to talk to her.I felt more umcomfortable.
Travelling alone,I prefer the A seat on the 763.

I haven't flown AC Exec F but have flown a number of times on Virgin Upper (on which the AC seats and layout are based).
IMO when travelling with a partner, it's better to sit across the aisle from each other than next to each other. It's much easier to chat to a partner when looking at them across the aisle than it is when "next to" them which would meaning turning right round and peering over the wall.

I too think that sitting across the aisle from your seat mate is the best option in J, but our seats have been messed up by a schedule change. Flying YUL/FRA and we had great seat assignments in the first cabin (3A/4D) but are now assigned 2A/5D. This is so annoying as the equipment did not change, just the time of departure by 10 min.
Given the comments on another thread and the potential that I will encounter hostility if asking someone to change seats with one of us, I am trying to resolve the issue before boarding. I may be able to do this by moving to the second cabin.
I would appreciate thoughts on the two J cabins on the 77L. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to sitting in the first J cabin vs. the second one?

For the 77L, there probably isn't much difference between the two cabins. It's more busy during boarding because everyone goes through on the way to the Y cabin, but otherwise I don't know if there's a disadvantage.
My preference for seating would be D/G because you can talk across the privacy screen.

Thanks. It seems that the seats in the second cabin are always the last ones selected. I wondered if it is because the service takes longer there (they take care of pax in the first cabin first)? Small thing I know, but it appears that for some reason folks avoid the second cabin. Wasn't sure if there was a "real" reason or if it was just perception based on the old seating config.

On the FAQ thread "which is the best seat?", 11 A and K are recommended as good seats because they have a little more space (as are 6 A and K).
However, I was just speaking with a yul concierge about another matter and took the opportunity to ask his opinion. He said that he does not recommend the second J section because of noise and line ups for the lav.
