I too think that sitting across the aisle from your seat mate is the best option in J, but our seats have been messed up by a schedule change. Flying YUL/FRA and we had great seat assignments in the first cabin (3A/4D) but are now assigned 2A/5D. This is so annoying as the equipment did not change, just the time of departure by 10 min.

Given the comments on another thread and the potential that I will encounter hostility if asking someone to change seats with one of us, I am trying to resolve the issue before boarding. I may be able to do this by moving to the second cabin.

I would appreciate thoughts on the two J cabins on the 77L. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to sitting in the first J cabin vs. the second one?
