I haven't flown AC Exec F but have flown a number of times on Virgin Upper (on which the AC seats and layout are based).

IMO when travelling with a partner, it's better to sit across the aisle from each other than next to each other. It's much easier to chat to a partner when looking at them across the aisle than it is when "next to" them which would meaning turning right round and peering over the wall.
