Do the terms of your LH ticket permit standby on awards. AE's awards only permit standby on AC flights and not on other STAR carriers. AC might let you since the agents may not know the terms of other programs' awards so assume since AE award holders can do a sameday standby, so can LH members.
Also depends on your class of service, and loads on the earlier flights. If flights are full, there's no real point. If you're in business, you may have to fly in the back. But check with M&M first.
