Answer: 2, B and I have been an Elite with approx 50 - 70 k for the past 6 years (I think)

I do not see a big change in my loyalty to AC.

First off, I am not going to shift business after 35k, as I still do not see the logic in foregoing elite benefits while I build up miles to achieve elite in another program.

Secondly, the loss of the threshold SSWU, while another incremental decline in the program is not a reason for me to walk away. Having said that, the cumulative effect may one day send me packing.

Given that my immediate goal is to rack up miles for use on family holidays (with hope (faint) that I can one day take my family in J on the same flight without it costing a bazillion miles), I am looking at the bonus opportunities out there. The 50k BA bonus comes to mind as being particularly worthy.

A. Are you expecting to:
1) going for SE at 100K

SE (first time) on 100 segments

B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start?

Yes... but head start on threshold certs, since it is unlikely that I will cross 100k miles.

C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in?

n/a

D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too.

Five years, including three years at E. Never been SE, but came close with 86 segments last year.

A. 3. Elite at 35k only (which means only one more trans-Atlantic for me)
B. No. Wanted SSWU instead
C. Off to BA
D. 3 years

I think I am scheduled to hit E 35K around early to mid April and I have Sun Pass(s) and a soon to be expired weekend pass (which I had mistakenly thought valid till end of Sept till Sat. :( ) so have to make the decision soon personally and wanted to see what others are thinking.

Thanks. I think all of us would find the results enlightening...

I expect to reach 100 k and be SE for the first time.
I did not chose the EQM as I thought it was not QM... and prefer the special edition coupons... but anyway will reach 100 k.
I have been Elite with AC for 10 years, never on any other programs.

Well, I'm going for SE again having got it for the first time this year the easy [?] way - the GCMR.

I didn't choose the bonus miles, but rather the double miles and the 2 SSWUs. And I'm glad I did.

I have 26,000 Q miles for the first quarter, so the year is going proportionately as it should. Will make some long-haul business trips over the water and make up any deficits with mileage run/s to HKG.

No other programs have any interest for me right now.
