Poll for E: Are you going for SE, E at 35K, in between or less than E.

This is a Poll for E in view of the downgrade of the 45K SSWU for SWU.

A. Are you expecting to:
1) going for SE at 100K,
2) E at well between 35K and 100K
3) E at 35K only
4) drop down to P at 25K
5) not going to qualify for status on AC.

B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start?

C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in?

D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too.

I think I am scheduled to hit E 35K around early to mid April and I have Sun Pass(s) and a soon to be expired weekend pass (which I had mistakenly thought valid till end of Sept till Sat. ) so have to make the decision soon personally and wanted to see what others are thinking.

Thanks. I think all of us would find the results enlightening...

A. Will hit E with a 34k RTW and a flight from HKG-YYZ.
B. No, I wanted the SSWU.
C. N/A, staying with AC as not crossing significantly over 35k.

I will try for Elite at 35k on AC.
I did choose the 5k Q-mile headstart just in case........ I made Elite for the first time last year and I was Prestige for 2 years before that.

I've never been far enough above 35k to worry too much about it. I think I made it to 50k once, and over 45k a couple of times.

This year I wanted the 2 SSWUs so didn't choose the miles. I should hit about 35k this year. If I go over, I might credit it to BMI so I can use the Miles+cash redemptions. I'll worry about it more when I get there

A: E at 35k only (there is no way I could get even close to 100k for SE so with the changes this year, a second FF program is a better option once at 35k)
B: No
C: BA EC Silver
D: AP member since 2003, last two at E status

NH has been pretty good but their current fares ex-BKK, ticketed in BKK, are only good until 31 March so I am also waiting for the new price list. So far, low season travel looks especially good.

SQ is a little more but due to opportunities I may be able to fly them which is why I may go for PPS with q-miles going to AC......

This is a Poll for E in view of the downgrade of the 45K SSWU for SWU.

A. Are you expecting to:
1) going for SE at 100K, NO
2) E at well between 35K....YES
3) E at 35K only Been trying to hit it just on last year was a complete bust.
4) drop down to P at 25K What for, P isn't worth anything.
5) not going to qualify for status on AC. Easily qualify

B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start?
Yes
C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in? N/A

D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too. Close to 15 if not over including CP and AC, have always held E on AC(2 years as P, math problems ) and President's Club (same level as Elite , I remember the stickers too....)

This year I don't intend to run for status , just let it happen! I can easily make E........will try and use different airlines this year while AC revamps it's fleet.....Hopefully E won't be too denigrated by the time the new fleet comes on -line.

I guess I should answer my own survey:

A. I think I can hit 100K+ EQM this year and currently leaning a little toward going for SE vs hold at around 35K. But not 100% decided yet.

B. No, I wanted the SSWUs and the 50% bonus miles.

C. Undecided yet..

2 years I made sure I hit 50K or so for the 2 SSWUs. I think I would either go for SE or hold at 35K E but no middle ground.

Made P in 2001 and hit E end of 2002, 2003 and 2004 was 50K and last year maintained E with a little help and a flight Dec 31

Would also be interested to hear from members who hit higher Elite status this year i.e. general member hitting P, P hitting E or E hitting SE for instant status if you are allowed to choose a package or are you given the default package.

Thanks QSG..... I have been following, and contributing, to that particular thread..... I have an interim quote which is far below the LH travesty on NH which is being followed up by contacts in BKK..... the upwards adjustment may also be a seasonal thing... April through June is high season for travel there..... so here's hoping......

A) I expect it will be E at somewhere between 40 and 50 k.

B) No, I was fairly confident I'd make E, so chose the 2 SSWUs.

C) N/A

D) I've been E for six years; I was just over 35k for the first four and just over 45k for the last two.

While disappointed with the loss of the SSWUs at 45k, it hasn't really affected the amount I will travel on AC this year. Interestingly, what has changed my travelling behaviour is the city pass (which is probably exactly what AC wants to hear): I come and go on short notice on my regular routes in Canada and have so far been up front earning a 50% Q mile bonus each time. That's hard to turn your back on.

A. Are you expecting to:
3) E at 35K only

B. NO

C. UA MP. The change makes a difference to me. No incentive to go beyond 35K since I won't reach 100K. Tend to get about 60-80K per year

D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too.

3 years with AC/E, 6+ with UA (Prem Ex)

If my trips to PRG materialize as scheduled, I will be again E at around 35K q miles.

I wanted a SSWU and 50% bonus miles, so I did not select 5K q miles bonus.

I became E for the first time only last August, were P many times before.

No other program, even though I have insignificant # of miles in OK Plus.

A. E at 35K with maybe a bit of room to spare.
B. No. See D below.
C. No -- will not achieve status in any other programs, but do accumulate in NW when the corporate travel gods don't cooperate with my AC bias.
D. Just finished a 4-yr run as E, but dropped to P for 2006 and therefore did not take the bonus 2500 EQM. If I'm that close at the end of the year, I'll MR to hit the threshold.
