Mileage Runs

A. Are you expecting to:
1) going for SE at 100K (since I am almost at E already) B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start? YES for the first time--figured it was worth more than SSWUs which I already had from December earning (as well as lots of SWUs) D. How many years have you had status with AC -- didn't keep track before 1998 but have been SE ever since that first year of SE (1998), was Elite before that but can't remember for how long (likely 3 years) . . . |
1)Aiming for E...That is what I can afford$$.
2) Took the 5K bonus(hasn't shown up in the account yet) 3) Will try to Renew BA gold for this year as well. Will hit AA gold as I have 2 trips to DEL on AA this summer! 4)I have been E for the past 6 or 7 years. |
"Duplicate - please delete" :)

A/B) I'm going to be at 40K Q miles by the end of the month (includes 5K bonus]
C) I'm debating whether I should stay with Aeroplan after the end of the month. I don't expect to travel much for the remainder of the year and thinking of crediting miles to UA MP given that any flights I do have for the remainder of the year would likely be *A. D) 2 years @ E |
A. Are you expecting to:
3) E at 35K only B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start? No - SSWU's + 50% C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in? UA/MP prolly D. How many years have you had status with AC? How many years at E? First year Elite. My travel can really change - 14k miles in January, almost none in Feb... I'm going AC until I hit 35k for sure, then not crediting flights for a while until I decide. (You have up to 6 months after to claim/assign *A miles, right?) Depending on how things work out I might be doing a couple of transpac flights... if they are reward flights, it's immaterial. If I end up on paid tix, I might flip over to UA, do a status match and see what I can do with the end of year promo stuff there. Lucky me, I do not have to make my choice quite yet. |
A. Will probably be between 35 - 50 K this year, so should requal for E.
B. Expected to make 35K, so did not take head start. C. Will not worry so much about flying on AC/UA if other alternatives are as convenient. Will probably fly AA more (not happy about that, particularly) and run up my balance there, though will probably not fly enough to make status there also. D. 1st year as AC elite, previously AAdvantage Gold. |
A. Are you expecting to:
2) E at well between 35K and 100K B. Yes C. Staying w AP D. This is my first year w E status. |
I screwed up and did not forecast my travel correctly.
I intended to do 35k on AC/AP and funnel the rest of my traffic to SkyTeam. I will over shoot the 35k but definitely not do the 75k I gave them last year. Not enough incentive to do more than the minimum. I did not take the bonus status miles. This will be my 7th year qualifying as E. |
A: Currently already 35K, should pass 50K by mid April and by forging ahead should make SE first time by year end comfortably. However, I probably will jump seat to OW as there is no incentive for me to stay with AC beyond E (Lounge and Priority Checkin/Boarding is my most used features) and AC has pissed me by dropping E benefits.
B: Yes, I just can't win playing Aerolotto. C: OW and SkyTeam D: P on and off since 1996 sprinkles with E here and there. |
A. Not going to qualify
B. Took the bonus because at time wasn't sure of my FF plans for 2006 C. Moved to BA and oneworld E. E every year since 1993. Simply not worth the effort to me personally to requalify anymore. |
uhm, interesting...

A. Are you expecting to:
5) not going to qualify for status on AC. I plan on flying much less this year, and burning Aeroplan miles wherever possible. When I do fly, AC will be my carrier of choice as long as they meet my criteria. For my short hops, I have been using Tango fares, or driving. AC has cut our flight choices to the point their is no point in buying Lat as their are minimal flights to change to. B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start? Yes. C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in? Stay home with the family more, and enjoy what we have around us. D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too. This is my fourth year as AC E. Was CP Exec Plat once many moons ago. My replies will be not be much help as a sampling of a typical AC FFer's plans, however I think this thread should be closely read by our friendly AC lurkers, as it will give some interesting feedback for the changes that have been made. |

I think this thread would be good for some interesting feedback to the friends at AC since we have not had a DO this year. I think AC is trying to find the best formula / combination for their long term strategy but sometimes the loyalty folks may not have as good a pulse and sometimes it takes a while for trends to show up in sales and P&L. For example, would Now that the upset over the downgrade of the Elite 45K SSWU has stablized a bit and a number of us are close to 25% into our flying year with a better view on our travels / patterns for the year, we can better judge how AC's actions have and will impacted our choices. For example those that typically hit the 45K for the extra 2 SSWU, would you be less fussy about T+ versus T fare after 35K if you still fly the same? Or would you start cutting optional trips? or perhaps less insistent on AC if there is a large price differential? Or as 1 person have indicated already going for higher status to keep or get perks? Essentially flying has costs in terms of money (yours or someone else's) and time. There are more remote work possibilities these days and cost conscious companies are using Netmeetings, teleconferencing or collarborative tools to reduce the required travel. Also, more and more people are looking at balance of life and extended travel have an impact on that. I would be interesting to get a feel how people are deciding... |
A. Are you expecting to:E at well between 35K and 100K
Only reason is that most my biz flying is domestic and AC is the only game in town for the FF benefits. For personal transborder and int'l travel, UA is my carrier of choice. Why? 100% EQM's and E+. 'nuff said. B. Did you choose the bonus EQM to give you a head start? Yes. SSWU's are almost useless to me. C. If you are stopping early at 35K due to the changes in the Elite, which other program do you plan to build status in? Not applicable but have AA account. D. How many years have you had status with AC (include CP if you were ex-CP)? How many years at E or SE? If your current profile does not have other Elite staus you hold, please state them too. E for 5 years. |
