I called Aeroplan and was told that:
AC Q fare = LH Q V= BMI QV
AC L fare = LH W = BMI W
AC V fare = LH H Q = BMI Q

Cos I called up SQ KF yesterday, and was told that my flight AC555/UA8456 does not earn ANY miles (not on list of eligible codeshares), even though on UA, my fare basis it VRP14CNX is eligible for miles. The helpful agent even went to "check it out and got back to me". Sigh. I was like ***!!! Conflicting information is just too much to take.
Anyone got any suggestions? Should I just hold on to boarding pass stub and claim the miles retroactively? (think this is last option)

i was just checking out yyz-lga fares for 12/24/05 returning 1/3/06 on ac.com and expedia. ac.com tango fares were the same as the expedia UA codeshare fares [for the exact same flights, except the extra $5 booking fee]. Since ac.com booking is a tango fare, no status miles. However the UA booking codes is "V" class. Does this mean i get the status miles/segments if I booked with UA?
If that's the case, there appears to be no incentive to booking with ac.com [other than getting the minimal online booking miles and extra $5 booking fee on expedia].

LH codeshare on SAA metal - AE points or not?
Another question: I'm planning a trip to South Africa in March. The only *A way there is connecting on to a LH flight from FRA. The LH flight to JNB is a codeshare on SAA metal. Can I still get AE miles for that segment or am I out of luck? Anyone know the latest on when SAA will finally become a member?

You need a three digit LH flight number FRA to JNB. Say flight 572 for example. That is on LH metal and you will get miles (I did.) Avoid the four digit LH flight numbers, those are on SAA metal. This is a pretty good rule for all airlines in my experience. The flight will have three or four or five flight numbers, one for each code share, and whoever has the three-digit flight number, that's whose metal it is. The rest are along for the ride. Of course it only matters if not all the metal-owners are in the alliance, and that's the FRA-JNB story.
