Have you driven to YUL recently? People are getting out of cars 3km from the terminal and walking some times of the day.
Appart from that, YHU will have direct shuttles from Metro Longueuil. And looking at goole maps right now, there is a 10 minute advantage driving to YHU over YUL.

What will be interesting to see is if AC sees this as any kind of threat they need to defend and set up operations there, however limited, as they did at YTZ when it became apparent that PD was going to be a thing and wasn't going away.

I remember reading this long ago, and it brought me flash backs grow up watching the news of those farmers protesting the land grab for Mirabel. anyways good for the Racoon as it's creating competition. Look at YTZ they grew it as did WS for Abbotsford. I love there is more completion to try and even out the playing field. My son who has always flown AC...ok with mom and dad's help, mostly dad! He and his buddy is flying Flair this weekend to YYZ to watch the Jays as it was cheaper.

That would make it doable and if the fares are cheaper many would consider it. But unless you're staying on the south shore or possibly east of the J-C bridge it wouldn't be anyone's first choice on the basis of convenience. Even for a seasoned metro user that's at least a change (and the least convenient change in the system) plus a bus. Doable but a pain with bags and a pain during rush hour.
But the record shows most people choose on price, not convenience, so "doable" is probably enough.

I see it much more for people who live on the South Shore, Centre du Qubec and the 'Ships. I know many people who work on the Island, live on the South Shore and travel to Toronto for business 6-8 times a year. They were regular AC flyers and even realized that for the first time their flying (plus a CC) could have them earning E50k. For them, this is a no-brainer: forget status. They'll be flying PD out YHU whenever possible.

This airport is less than 10 minutes from my main QC office in Boucherville, so i'd be tempted, but they would need to have a decent schedule including an evening return flight.
