Empress flight AC 2 arrives in NRT at 5:25
SIN and BKK flights have left
I assume you would not want me to take the flight that give me 1/2 points you are the one who taught me!

We need to let AC understand that 1/2 points is costing them customers! Hopefully AC is reading and listening to people like you Empress, UA has made a huge competitive move with its program..... do you agree these changes will hurt hurt AC? Well tell AC! You have the contacts, it might not be to late, maybe AC program can still change.

I wouldn't bet the house on it, so to speak.

Huh? AC002 is NRT-YVR, what does that have to do with BKK and SIN flights.
AC007 YYZ YVR 09:15 11:18
AC003 YVR NRT 12:00 15:25
Connects perfectly to UA's SIN and BKK flights. What's wrong with that?

I also taught you that if you go to an Asian TA, you can often find upgradeable AC H fares as cheap as going via US on UA.

I don't disagree that UA has made positive changes to their program in an attempt to give their customers better benefits. This is absolutely true. However, looking at this from a customer prespective, does having more 1Ks+SWUs+UG requests on each flight really benefit them?

And of course some AC bashers continue to think that AC should operate a flight with 5 people on it and even if it's losing money.

1.OK then isn't[full flights] another reason for some of us to consider UA?
Yes. You are correct in this aspect. However, do understand that it is not easy to upgrade on UA with that many people trying. No doubt that if you don't get upgraded, E+ will win out on UA.
2. I hate paying for H class tickets so its going to be difficult for me to be upgraded, also with the new LOTTO going on I am even less likely to try.
You know, H class is lot more affordable than you think on many routes. Seriously, check it out. As a SE, you have the best chance of getting it. The number of SEs on each AC flight is lot less than number of 1Ks on each flight.
3. Also AC has cut points for flights UA has not. [think about YYZ-NRT YYZ-SYD etc.]
I don't disagree with you about this. That 50% status miles thing on domestic flights is just plain stupid.
6. When do we get our 2004 program?
Aeroplan's official response: Before March 1, 2004.

No, but the fact that they no longer operate it it makes an alternative plan more attractive, and AC/AP/AE less attractive.

That may be, but with the drastic reduction in C space, it's becoming a moot point.

But Rupert's response was along the lines of "well in advance."

I think it would be a real improvement for AC if they offered an E+ on >= A319 aircraft. Of course, E+ on CRJs will be good too... While they're at it, they should raise the roof of those flying barbie sticks...

I must say that on YOW-LHR, H was just $50 more one way over a V ticket. Of course, if I had a choice, I'd buy Q / L tickets, but when I usually book my tickets, there aren't any 9 month stays L fares available... Speaking of which, I'd still love it if a SE flew LHRYHZ with me on Dec 20!

So why do you crap on AC so so so much?

There's nothing wrong with pointing out the bad things about AC -- which we all do -- but to turn 180 degrees between love and strongly dislike in a matter of seconds... Sometimes I wonder if you're on PMS or something.

Yes. Those C0s are stupid. Although getting upgrades confirmed on UA is not exactly easy. In the end, it all comes down to whether you got the J seat at the end of the day. (I know that you're going to come back and say 'but if I don't clear on UA, I haven't paid anything extra.'. That is true but given that many of us are batting 100% with upgrades from an eligible fare, I would say the odds are very good and I am willing to pay the H. Long timers like BlondeBomber would agree with me on this point.)

Who, when and where? I've never seen this said anywhere on the forum. I was not at all impressed with FCO getting axed and then not having anyone call me about the axing that's for sure. There's no way that there are only 5 people or even 50 people on that plane, even during the slower weeks of the winter sked. If they cancelled the route because it was unprofitable that's one thing but I suspect that it was cancelled because it simply broke close to even - so they could reinstate SCL and EZE service, for example. If AC is that unreliable to cancel a route with just a few weeks notice, then the customer will choose to go elsewhere for more a more reliable schedule.

I know the exact reason why FCO was cancelled. The general reason was because that flight wasn't making money even though loads were high. It has nothing to do with EZE or GRU. (That 5 pax comment was an exagerration but you got my point - they can't operate a flight if all they are doing is losing buckets of money everyday.)
