If you have general questions about how to earn SQM/SQS/SQD, please see the status qualification thread.

If you have received an incorrect amount of SQx/points, please see the thread on missing/incorrect flight activity.

Calculator for SQM, SQD, and Aeroplan points
SQM/SQD Cowculator and its source code

canadiancow's TODO list:
  • SAS Go Light fares
  • Basic economy on any airline other than AC (is it just need a fare basis that ends in GT?)
  • Ineligible codeshares, like EY-marketed, EY-operated, AC-ticketed

Adam Smith's TODO list:
  • Add earning for VA
  • Check earning rates for AC basic economy

Yup. It was surprising how few bookings we could find that were helpful in this evaluation. Of course, frequent FP travel doesn't help.

My last flight shows an SQD of 862 in the calculator - a number that exactly matches my own calculation based on the fare paid - and AC have granted me just 619 for that flight. I plan to email them about it (as is my new routine) but that whole issue & process makes the verification of the FT calculator, very hard.
Well that's clearly an issue on their end. I'm very explicitly looking for things that are off by one. And after receiving another report from vancouver25k, it definitely looks like the new code works as expected.

It always rounds up to the next dollar.

So I'm going to deploy that change now.

It's not that I'm worried that at the end of the year I'll be $10 short, but its nice to have it actually correct, if only so you know what to ask for when you have to write in.

This isn't quite the wrong thread, but when did YHZ/YYZ become 1 mile closer together?

@quandide Thanks for sharing these data points. Can you please clarify the base miles though? Most of them look correct, but BRU-GVA and MXP-BRU are 2x the distance, and I don't even see any 200% earning classes with Aeroplan on SN. (These are distances credited to Aeroplan rather than, say, LH M&M, right?)

Yes, they are all SQMs credited to Aeroplan. But oops, in my attempt to be helpful, I did apply presumed multipliers, which was silly in retrospect as SN and LH credit P class in different ways. So these are the face values that showed up in my account:
BRU-GVA 330 SN class P
BIQ-GVA 210 LX class T
NAP-FRA 345 LH class P
MXP-BRU 412 SN class P
BMA-BRU 787 SN class P

Thanks! Since Aeroplan rounding is inconsistent, we don't take anything from a fare that earns <100%, so we'll leave out the LX and LH ones, but the 3 SN ones are all good
