Saw 3 B777-333 going to Marana Pinal Airport (MZJ) for storage: 2 yesterday and 1 today.

Thanks.

AC birds are being parked in various locations, which it seems you know.

Some discussion and some photos in this thread. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-...-coming-7.html

And, we know AC has a flock of MAXs nesting in MZJ as per this photo (posted in the 737 MAX thread). So I would assume AC's arrangement with this part of the desert would allow some additional parking (although it's getting crowded with some other big birds having recently arrived). Maybe they can fixed the deflating seats while out of service. And perhaps a deep clean too?!

No way money gets spent on fixing the bladders in this environment.

Roswell (ROW) looks to be one of the busiest airports today in North America with flights from all over the continent for storage. Sign of the times.

It's always busy. They just don't talk about it much, nor for long if they do

Looks like 2 B787 are en route to Kansas City (MCI).
And 4 Rouge B763.
I guess it's for parking.

That is a lot of planes going to Kansas City! Surprised they aren't sending all of them to places in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas.

Aircraft storage space was under pressure before COVID-19 due to the MAX fiasco, so the ideal storage places like VCV, ROW, GYR, etc may be getting full or prohibitively expensive.

As for Texas, it's generally quite humid there, so not a great place to store aircraft - humidity, rather than temperature, is the biggest concern: (hot + dry) > (cold + dry) > (hot + wet) > (cold + wet).

Without having done any research on the issue at all, I would guess that MCI is better, from a humidity perspective, than most places in Texas.

Agreed though leaving planes in Kansas during tornado season (including hail) is exposing some of their fleet to potential damage. On the contrary, if damages do occur due to storms, it might benefit AC in terms of insurance claims (think $$$) and a smaller fleet.

AC also has an MRO at MCI which may influence why they've chosen to store aircraft there.
