Exciting.

Amarillo can be interesting for some. Singapore for some maintenance for Fin 741 I assume.
Post can be moved to other threads as needed.

EDIT TO ADD:

There is an aircraft painting facility in AMA, so perhaps the B789 belongs in this thread
Tracking the re-painting of AC's fleet in the new (2017) livery

(There is a very cool video on the IAC site of them painting a giant tiger on the nose of a 747) https://iac.aero/video-suite/

This one flew back to YVR this morning from SIN. Flight radar is showing it's operating to/from YYZ the next two days as AC116 and AC107.

SYD could be done with a 789, as could YYZ-HKG, unless of course the 10 J seats is a reason for their return. Wouldn't be surprised if they are some of the last aircraft to come out of storage.
I remember hearing it from unconfirmed source many years ago that the reason why YYZ-HKG was flown by the 77L as oppose to the 77W like Cathay Pacific was because of AC's freight/mail contract for airmail and EMS parcels, which requires significant belly space that making it difficult to operate with the 77W reliably.

Not sure how much of that is truth or just A.net conspiracy, and that was before the 787 even entre service.

Given the current load factor, I think the 77L is pretty much obsolete in AC's fleet, doubt if they will return to service any time soon if at all.

AC has been operating the YYZ-HKG route with the 400-seat 77W the past few winters. The flight is usually weight restricted and depending on the day (and how much cargo and how much reserve fuel they have to carry) the actual passengers they can carry vary between as low as 325ish to as high as 385ish, leaving most if not all non-rev behind usually.

Cathay uses a 368-seat 77W for the YYZ-HKG route and usually have no problems filling all the seats (and with cargo). I think it comes down to how the two airlines calculate passenger and cabin baggage weights differently.

Going forward, I could see the 77L becoming obsolete at AC. The AC YYZ-HKG flight resumed twice a week this month with a 789 right now with very low passenger load so they can still carry, plus a cargo only flight with a 789 once a week.

The question becomes when travel recovers, will the 789 have enough room for the cargo when the passenger load is full. Plus as @EdmFlyBoi mentioned, that's a loss of 10 J seats on the 789 and they usually have no problems filling the premium cabin on this route when time was good.

While taking C-FNNH (777-200LR) out of YVR yesterday to VCV, the pilots took the opportunity of an empty aircraft and had a minute of air-show fun on departure.

Given that one of the following comments is one of the YVR ATC crew, it looks legit, but I'm sure Tracon knows more about this than I do.

Such a great aircraft to fly on. Love the feeling those GE90's give on takeoff. Must be a ton of fun to fly when it is empty. Brings back memories of the rocket like take offs on United 757's.

Could be parked due to cutbacks in the schedule, or could be going for maintenance.

I believe they do some 787 maintenance in VCV.

FIN837 returned VCV-YYZ today after 856 got there. 837 was ferried to VCV Feb02.

On the other hand though, 5 of the 6 777-200LRs and I believe at least 2 A330s are parked in VCV right now. One went last week and one going this week.
