I didn't forget anything. I went to bed "early", so I left it running.

I know right, she was not willing to join ever after my repeated texts attempting to convince her.

I said to Cow that I plan on sleeping in from now on each Saturday so that I have enough energy to go late into the night.

At the beginning of this discussion, there was mention of the necessity of having a camera in order to participate in the Zoom chats.
Is this still a prerequisite?

The only time I enforced it was on the first do, against the bovine, my roommate.

Two dos ago we had a great participant who technically had a camera, but there was no video signal. It was fine in that circumstance.

My main concern was someone joining under the name "bob123" and spewing crap all over the do. Given Zoom's recent upgrades, I am no longer concerned about that, especially since there have been no problems since I enabled one of those security upgrades.

So you will be permitted entry with or without video, don't worry.

That being said (and you don't need to reply to this), we're a friendly bunch, so if the issue is not wanting to show your face, rather than not being able to, you're more than welcome to join, chat, and after you feel comfortable, turn on your camera. We find the video just makes it more do-like.

And this applies to everyone, not just you.

Guess I'd better go find somewhere that is open that sells laptops tomorrow or I'll be stuck doing this by cell phone.

Yeah, if only bodies came with appendages capable of holding those types of devices.

Interim solution for you: Zoom in with your cell phone and use your open broken laptop to prop up your phone at the appropriate angle. That way you don't have to hold the phone and we don't have to watch your jiggling image.

I always use my iPad for Zoom sessions.

Yes. It has not changed, there's just a waiting room now. Easier than changing the link every week or adding a password (that would also need to change).
