Flights cancelled through March 27 including the daily YYZ-HKG. That's now 2 further aircraft - 777's - that are available that are normally allocated to that route. You've got to think AC has some plans to accelerate A330's refurbishments or complete some repaints. They are getting a bit of reprieve from the Max grounding with the all the extra wide body lift.

SKCH on a March 6 flight I had that was booked on a 333 (AC, not Lion), now scheduled as 789. Whether that 333 will be re-deployed to cover rouge flights, or mainline 763s, or sent off to have its its refurb done, I don't know.

Another 787-9 coming off of YVR-MEL soon... This summer is gonna be widebody-heaven for domestic passengers. Unless some miracle happens and the 737Max comes back.

Where did you see YYZ-HKG canceled?
Also, this isn’t two 777s, it is four of them freed up. |
I do wonder if it means some of them will be deployed on to Carribean routes
Seems to me none of this will back to BAU until April/May |

Well, the flight schedule seems to suggest no more YVR or YYZ >> HKG.

I know it's a longshot, but I've got YVR-HNL in April and it would be great if they found a spare 787 and sent Omni packing.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but I'd love to see a 787/777 replace the 763 that's currently operating AC824/825.
Now just waiting for the same for AC825 on Feb 15. |

Link for March flights: https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...in-march-2020/ HKG isn’t there. The initial website announcement was consolidating flights to HKG through YVR but this has disappeared. The non-stop YYZ-HKG is not bookable as of March 1 on the website however. |

Looks like you have multiple choices.
Also, the family is on reward tickets and there is no other one-stop reward space in J on my dates other than transit through HKG. Incase AC cancels the HKG route, would they be open to routing all of us (revenue and reward) through a one stop through HND even though AP doesn't currently show reward space available? My revenue ticket PNR is linked to reward of course. Although, there is a possibility we might cancel this trip all together given the rise in cases in SIN - so this might end up being a moot point. |
rouge 321 switched to a 77L on one of my upcoming YYZ-YYC flights. From rouge "J" to pods, that's a huge win, if it sticks.
