Doing mostly YYC-YYZ on an East-West Connector FP. First time hitting 100K after years of 50K and 75K but my flying in 2018 will likely drop. And at just over $0.25/mile AC made a bit of money from my flying in 2017
Loved Ziptie's even 300K so was looking at others near 100K and saw Air Travis with 100,167 in October but still travelling, montrealer at 100,003 posted Nov 18, and rehoult done for the year at 100,457 posted 3 days ago. Will be interesting to see who can get closest to 100,000 on the nose at year end. We need a new contest!
I was a bit closer. 100,024 AQM.
One flight to Asia, many to LHR, a couple to the Caribbean, DCA, YSJ,... and a detour via YVR on my last return from Europe.

Thanks to skybluesea for pointing out about the FLEX FP. One major benefit to this is 4 eups to get into J cabin. Another benefit is last minute bookings without paying higher fares.

I'm at 5.74 AQC/AQM right now, though that number may drop. And I've requalified.

AQC = Altitude Qualifying Cent

You fit the definition of bottom feeder quite well.

Still, he must have flown 175,000 qualifying miles.

Does that 18.2 cent number include class of service bonus. I assume a lot of the SE here get CoS bonus to requalify by actually flying less than 100K miles.

typically, airlines like AC report avg revenue (18.2c) seat/mile as "butts-in-seats", thus will NOT include COS as total miles flown.

your right, some SE will achieve status without strict 100k miles flown, although with AQD, pretty clear AC far more concerned with total spend.

I am at about 18 cents per AQM as well.

please help me understand how 175k @ CC spend/mile gets to $20k AQD minimum?

My calc. is 348,450 miles, assuming only $20k spend on Flex with 100% AQM.

If CC flew biz on every leg in 2017, then with +50% COS bonus, then would be required to fly 232,300.

Impressive none the less

CC qualifies as a non-canadian. Therefore his AQD requirement is 10K

But that doesn't mean I only spent 10k

Keep in mind I've credited UA metal on 016 tickets to AC, etc.

I guess my mindset is different.... I fly, both for business and personal, and then I earn SE status- been like that for more than 15 years now. I have never counted cpm nor try to get below a certain threshold, nor ever tried to get SE as cheaply as i could....I guess that's why Air Canada likes me.

Made same decision in 2008/2009 after two terrible years on AC.

This year, AC metal up but reflects more P/Z flying rather than actual miles flown, Star travel down, with Other carriers, mostly OW up quite a bit - my NON AC spend nearly as much as my AC spend.

Onward and upward...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
