According to reports in the wild, they've changed the cookie (hint: quality) and they refuse to change the melted Fresco stuff.

The Cake Report
I posted a few years worth of AC cakes and desserts on some of my international flights for a couple of reasons:
1. Fun
2. To showcase some of the outstanding offerings there used to be:
- single serve chocolate cake with nuts and caramel
- single serve chocolate lava cake
- carrot cake
- the passion fruit white chocolate cheesecake
Some of these have been replaced by what appears to be lower quality desserts (e.g. that fruit crumble tart). The worst are fluffy dessert cakes full of what seems like whipped cream.
3. To show how since at least the Fall of 2015 and continuing to now, that exact same chocolate cake with fruit compote is served on every outbound flight (that I've been on).
Yes, FWP. I know the menu says it's a Hawksworth specialty, and sure, the compote changes every once in a while.
I also realize that most everyone else who flies these routes either doesn't care about the cake, doesn't notice the cake, and/or doesn't fly frequently enough to see the same cake.
...Carry on....

Being a FOTSG Tango type, I haven't seen these. But if it seems like whipped cream, then it is likely not real whipped cream, but some whipped topping. I've been married to a whipped cream snob for 19 years now, so I've learned how much real whipped cream matters to some people.

Obviously I can't comment on how that cake tasted, but aestheticically speaking, that is one unappetizing cake. Looks like some sort of alien creature in hibernation mode.
Also, there's a definite theme to these pics: chocolate cake with some sort of berry / cherry compote. As someone who doesn't eat (or pay much attention to) dessert, I'm not sure if it that speaks to AC's catering contracts or 24left's tastebuds.

The chocolate torte-cake is the cake I refer too as been around now for 2 years straight on every outbound flight I've been on and the only thing that changed was the fruit compote.
