Will AC continue to ignore YYC?

For the record, I never said that. It is very clear that YYC is AC's smallest hub and it makes sense why it is. My point was (if you read the post) was that YYC got 1/30 new international destinations in 2 years and thought it was odd that even as the smallest hub the new routes were so out of whack especially with other carriers expanding in YYC.
FWIW I also feel sorry for all the people stuck transiting YYZ and have no other option

Currently the YYC AIF charge is a fixed $30 for everyone departing from there or connecting domestically through YYC in more than four hours or internationally in more than 24 hours! Timing is based upon scheduled and not actual. No mention of what happens if a connecting flight is cancelled and the new flight is ouside the allowed window.
Only crooks charging on a connection are the YYZ ones.

Legal domestic connections can be longer than 4 hours sometimes, such as when the next possible flight is in more than 4 hours. Not that uncommon if you're flying from an outstation in western Canada to an outstation in the Maritimes, for example. Hell I had an overnight layover flying from Comox to Yellowknife once. And yes, these connections do get dinged for multiple AIFs.

This has been around since 2010 or earlier
YYC-NRT was actually a through service YYZ-YYC-NRT / NRT-YYC-YYZ as AC9/AC10 with 767s in 2010 but AC later dropped the YYZ segment in both directions.
Last year I believe some runs were replaced with 788s but am unsure if this is a permanent change.

Let's please keep this thread focused on AC only as the thread topic is about whether AC is ignoring YYC and not whether other airlines are or not.
Thanks.

It's been there since 2010, with ups and downs, but not new at all. They were flying 787 in 2016, but for some reasons in this past spring, they used 767, and only redeployed 787 since the mid-June. I made two trips to NRT in April and early June, and avoided the 767 aircraft by routing to YVR. The YYC concierge desk told me that they also complained to the AC management about the 767 deployment in this past spring.

The B767 was deployed the last several winters when AC operated YYC-NRT three times per week and YYC-OGG four times per week.
The B787 operated the YYC-NRT route daily for the last two summers.
We will have to see what happens with YYC-NRT when the winter schedule is finalized as YYC-OGG is being rouged.
