YUL-LGA AC 726 vs. AC 746

I was just looking at availability from YUL-LGA on February 12th and stumbled onto a bit of a baffling schedule:

AC 746: 3:30pm-5:10pm RJ-190
AC 726: 3:35pm-4:59pm RJ-190

Out of curiosity, why does the earlier flight on the exact same equipment get scheduled to land 11 minutes after the later flight?

Which do you think is better to book? I'm guessing the one with a longer flight time on the schedule will be slightly less crowded?

Other thoughts?

I'm guessing that one of the two flights will disappear from the schedule. Unlikely that they are flying two planes on the same route at the same time. This would normally only happen during bad weather, irrops, etc. Not scheduled.

I second the above.

Nice to see an E90 on the route though.

Thank you for your replies. I've been poking around and it seems like they have both of those flights scheduled for much of February.

Do you have any guesses on which one will be the real one, and which one will be cancelled? I'd prefer to book the real one so any seat assignments have a better chance of sticking.

Thank you!

The later flight is 748. The reciprocal flights are 747 and 749. That suggests that if one of the above is a duplicate, 746 is the real one.

Thank you for the excellent analysis. As you predicted, they dropped 726, and mildly tweaked the times on 746. I appreciate your help!
