The escalator opposite the normal arrival hall is now open for connections. The signs are correct.

YYZ New Domestic Connection from Intl

Traveled back from LHR yesterday and was making a domestic connection. Went by bus straight to D gates. Was surprised with very quick passport check, then a bus straight through to gates...no additional security. The guy at the bus said it was temporary. Any insight as to how long this nice change is in place for?

I had a bit of a chuckle with the new part of the title. Ive probably been on that bus 40 times. I thought maybe the bus was gone and replaced with the new OSS corridor sooner than expected.

However from what I can tell of the construction well be stuck with the bus for a while yet. They even installed little monitors before the doors outside recently to tell you when the bus is supposed to leave.

Yeah, I noticed at some point they put a little Tim Hortons cart in the waiting area for the bus as well. Somewhat amusing, that -- if you've been away for a while and you need your Tims fix literally the moment you reenter the country, they've got you covered.

Toronto Pearson tweeted out that they are expanding their connections space to allow for NEXUS machines.

I did finally try OSS yesterday at YVR. Came off the flight from SEA. Red vest lady directed me to OSS. Told her I wanted to use Nexus so she told me to do so and come back to the OSS lane which I did. Handed my Nexus printout to CBP and went on my way. Only issue was 3 people asked to see my BP. And the somewhat long bus ride to domestic thru and around the airport.

That was my experience as well a few weeks back. I thought it was much faster than going landside and through security again. And they let you use the Nexus kiosk. I agree that the bus ride is a bit long but it gives you time to catch up on emails or to simply enjoy the ride and the view
Well done YVR OSS ^

ITD OSS at YUL, coming from the US. Yes they now have Nexus machines. However the line is left closed, they only open it for you when talking to someone and they then come and open. Then when you are done, you must give the form to an agent. Agent closest did not seem to be aware and would leave us hanging, calling more people from the regular line. Until I walk to her and asked if we would have to stay there forever... At which point the officer closest to her figured out what was going on and told her what to do. Took our forms and let us through.

In my experience there is always someone standing there, you just need to say "Nexus" and they'll open the cordon to where the machines are. Because of the prominent placement of the Nexus machines when you walk in to that area I am guessing they had too many clueless non-Nexus pax trying to use them and get confused, hence the goofy setup.

When I am done I usually just walk myself up to one of the wickets and hand over the form, but if there is a long non-Nexus line you do kind of have to assert yourself.

I agree the whole setup is, well, not ideal. But at least you can walk to the domestic gates afterwards.

I find the passenger flow for ITD OSS at YVR a bit convoluted...

You first have to head to the kiosks (regular or Nexus) that all arriving passengers, whether OSS or not, have to use. Then you proceed to a CBSA officer, who then u-turns you to the back corner of the customs hall, where there is yet another line and another CBSA check before your boarding pass again gets scanned before boarding the bus.

I didnt see any signs directing passengers, but admitted I also wasnt paying complete attention as I just got off a 14hr flight. I saw a sign for Canada connections to the right of the escalators that took you down into the customs hall and immediately went that way.

Someone really needs to re-align this process so it flows much better and is intuitive.

OMG I just ITD OSS through YVR on Sunday and I completely did it wrong. I ended up landslide and had to reclear Security. I thought I was following all the signs including digital signs saying connecting passengers from my flight number. It was a LOT of schlepping and I did not see any signs saying OSS actually there. I saw no directions to any bus.

(I was also bemused by the new NEXUS machines that demanded I scan my passport and take my picture and then determined that my picture wasn't "good enough" (okay I was really tired after the first flight) so it X'd me and I had to show the docs to the agent.)

Barely made the gate in time to buy a sandwich at that Camden take-out because despite being J7 or more the day before, I stalled at 4th on the upgrade list by flight time.

New YYZ record. Less than 20 minutes, gate to gate. 3 people in front of me at customs, second last aboard a packed bus, and boarded at the tail end of zone 3.
