Brian Williams, a SE, and (never noticeable on air) wearing very nice shoes at YVR D MLL today.

propofol Mar 3, 2010 3:51 am

What does Brian do between Olympic games? I never see him on TV except for that!

CFL.

But other than that I'm not sure.

He's like a Christmas tree - brought out every 2 yrs when the Olympics are on. Once the Olympics are done, away into storage he goes!

Dalton and Mrs McGuinty in row 27 (on a 319) March 13 and 20 YYZ to SJD (San Jose Del Cabo,MX). I guess they needed some fun in the sun. Pretty cool sitting across the aisle from his guard with a piece under his vest. They were very quiet and nobody really approached them.

The cool factor changes to a pain in the rear factor when you have to carry the piece on your person most of the time, or have it close at hand.

Sorry to rain on your coolness, but I can assure you his guard (OPP) did not have his "piece" with him. Police do not travel with their "pieces" in these circumstances.

Cheers,

Why on earth would Dalton McGuinty need a guard? Other provincial premiers seem to manage without them.

McScruffy Mar 22, 2010 12:27 pm

I saw Justin Bieber on my flight from LAX to YYZ on March 2nd. He was sitting in J and his entourage was in Y. That kid was super short.

At least Campbell and Charest do as well...

When in Quebec and travelling by car, Premier Charest has his car with 2 SQ drivers/bodyguards along with a chase car with 2 other SQ officers.

Depending on the type of event, an advance party of usually 2 officers comes in about 60-90 minutes to check the location out (big crowds vs. small crowds vs. public events vs. PLQ party events).

Not sure what the arrangements are like when travelling outside of the province or country on commercial flights. In some cases, the premier does use one of the Challengers from the Service aérien du Gouvernement du Québec based at YQB.

When outside of the country, the premier has at least one of his SQ detail members along for the ride and they are likely NOT armed.

All of this based on personal observations in Quebec, Toronto and Paris.

Looks like that Fox bimbo is coming to Calgary too. Is she flying AC?

Hopefully someone will find a way to relegate her to the back, preferably stuck between two Arab-looking guys? :D

What a deep post??

Are you referring to Megan Fox?

My mistake . . . Would have assumed a reference to a "celebrity" would relate to their name and not the TV Network they work for . . . And never assumed Ann Coulter would pass the "celebrity" test and get in this thread.

My bad Stranger.

PS - Wouldn't it be a great world if we all realized the attention Coulter gets feeds this annoying circle. U of O just give her a louder platform by cancelling her talk. I promise you, she'll just go away if we ignore her. Would LOVE it if all CGY media decided not to cover/mention her talk at UoC (or whereever she's "performing")

Are you referring to Megan Fox? She's never had DUI, keeps out of trouble, isn't hooking up w/ someone new every week, not a clubber . . . I don't get it?? I'm thinking a post like yours stems from a life of constant rejection from females over the years?

Slow down hondo.. he means Ann Coulter from the FOX Network, not Megan Fox.

Her talk in Ottawa last night was cancelled due to "security concerns".

This is exactly what happened at UWO. She was completely invisible on campus. Nothing showed up on the campus website and I don't think most people were aware that she was here. Her stupid "let them ride camels" remark made it to the news, but that was about it.

Stranger Mar 24, 2010 9:10 am

Won't happen in Calgary.

People here love right wing bimbos apparently. :(

Now if we could enroll a couple of thousand women who would agree to wear some sort of hair cover to go sit in front of the audience....

Stranger Mar 24, 2010 9:24 am

After her comments about Arabs, flyimng carpets and camels, maybe she should be put on a canadian no-fly list. :D

We'll then do our best to offer her a camel to take her back to the US boarder. Maybe a horse?

Horse is like riding in J compared to a camel, stick to the camel.

Although he sits in J, and his entourage probably consists of 10 people, and I sit in Y (mostly unless U/G) and my entourage consists of 1 person, I am absolutely sure he doesn't have Elite, even more SE... :D

AC-189

So, yesterday it was a Politician Turkey Shoot on AC-189. Sat beside Denise Savoie, MP for Victoria (and helped her with her rather heavy Carryon), in front of Ujjal Dosanjh, across the Aisle from James Moore. Also present up front was Ed Fast, Chuck Strahl, and a few others that I couldn't Identify. Nina Grewal got stuck riding in Economy.

Honestly, I'm surprised I got my upgrade.

As a side effect of all of this, the SD mentioned that the front cabin was completely full of SEs. I saw both Mrs Savoie's and Mr Dosanjh's SE luggage tags. :)

Tom Jackson at YYC MLL this morning.

x-gator Apr 7, 2010 11:10 am

Ken Dryden, MP

.. and Hockey Hall of Famer.. AC462 28 Mar YYZ - YOW .. in Y.

drsusan Apr 7, 2010 3:40 pm

I've had the pleasure of being seated next to both Ken Dryden and Scotty Bowman (different flights) in the last 18 months.

On Mar 16, my seat-mate in J from SAN-YYC was Brett Hart.

yyzgigi Apr 12, 2010 5:45 pm

Flew back from LAX to YYZ with Joshua Jackson and his girlfriend Diane Kruger. I switched seats so Joshua could spend the flight cuddled up to Diane. He was very nice about it and sincerely thanked me for switching.

The FA didn't recognize him until I told her about the switch for the manifest and made it clear that I wasn't Joshua Jackson (in case it wasn't painfully obvious).

propofol Apr 13, 2010 4:12 am

Kruger is one person I would love to meet (or see in person).

I'll admit I didn't know who she was until after I googled her. However, she was very good in Inglorious .......s and was definitely very beautiful and gave off a movie star quality.

danielsan Apr 26, 2010 4:32 pm

There's some guy who looks like American Idol's Simon Cowell in YYZ MLL-International

cuz99 Apr 26, 2010 9:53 pm

Funny. Just read some of this thread a couple of days ago... and then in YYZ terminal 1 at the US customs lineup. Who do I see behind me? Amy Smart. Unfortunately, didn't see her in the MLL...
