Problems with PTO?

Wondering what experience people have had with PTO. I booked a YVR-LHR-GLA trip using it. No problems. Got a voicemail from the PTO desk to say it was all fine, but I had to get seat assignments for the BD leg in LHR (no big deal I know they dont preassign). Today the tickets arrived, with a whole segment missing from LHR-GLA....
Of course it then took 25 mins on the phone on hold while this was sorted out, someone at that end deleted the flight (though it was still showing on my PTO itinerary). Now I am told I have to make a special trip to YVR to get my ticket reiussed! I told them I wouldnt be there until the day I fly and I dont want to leave it until then in case there is another screwup, so at the moment I am refusing to do it and have asked for a new ticket to be sent to me, which they wont do til they get the old one back etc.
My issue here is that it will take over an hour of my time, plus gas plus parking plus hassle to do this, because of their screwup. I reckon that this is worth something like $120. As the agent said though, of course I could always write to customer relations.......
What are other peoples experiences of PTO? I didnt know a person was involved in the process, so was surprised by this.

I only know it's a good tool for checking seat map. Other than that, I wouldn't dare try booking a trip on it. It simply sucks. You'll be lucky if you don't have to call PTO support at least once a week to reset your account because it's stuck in "User already logged on" mode.

Actually booking a trip is kind of exciting, lots of things flash and whiz around on the screen, messages appear and disappear, then it tells you to call an agent
I have found it good for playing with fares though. On this GLA trip, I found that depending which code-share carrier I chose for LHR-GLA (all the same BD flight of course) the fare varied vastly. I ended up with one leg as BD and the other as SK and saved over a hundred bucks.

My experience has been horrible. I won't go into details because I can't really remember them. But, I booked flights about 4 times and every time involved a major adventure to straighten out the mess PTO made.

One example I do remember: I went through the entire process to the purchase step. I was booking an e-ticket. The purchase step failed with the following error:

Unable to verify airfare and rules.
Please contact your support desk to validate this reservation.

At that point I just gave up and rebooked the ticket through a more reliable channel. A week later, I received, by mail, paper tickets for the "failed" PTO booking!

I will never use PTO to book a flight again.

That is exactly what happened to me as well. The folks on the other end of the phone refused to correct the erroneously issued ticket and made me deal with BMI, the carrier, to have everything rectified. The software doesn't even exist on my computer anymore.
