Aeroplan reward on SQ - Seat Selection

I just booked an aeroplan reward on SQ for HKG-SIN-HKG and im now trying to pre-select seats. I can't access my booking on SQ.com because I booked through aeroplan. They are telling me to call Air Canada service centre to pre-book seat.

This is a Y class reward and I have no status with Star. If I did call Air canada, would they be able to pre-assign me a seat, or would I be wasting my time calling them?

Also Im in HKG, so is there a toll free number I can use from HK, or would I have to pay to call them?

Thanks for any help

What do you mean by PNR number? Do you mean their booking ref number?

So would I just have to give my Aeroplan details/Air canada booking ref?

Thanks

From my experience, SQ do not pre-select seats in Y.

And I have also had dismal luck with their phone agents. On one occasion, they would not divulge their PNR for an AC codeshare and certainly would not allocate seats. It was one of the worst phone contacts I have had with any airline.

Nope - just your flight details and name, they can look it up. Any AC or AE details will probably be meaningless to them.

OK thanks, I will give them a call! Even If im unable to pre-assign seats, the SQ PNR will be needed to do onlince check in 48 hours before the flights!

Thanks again

It's always advisable to obtain individual PNR for each partner you have for your reward itinerary. You do that by calling the partner airlines directly.

If you go to Aeroplan website, it shows there is a local HK number.

Not to mention you never have to pay to call a North American toll-free number using SKYPE.

I called SQ reservations in HK this morning and got straight through, no wait. They gave me my SQ Booking ref and pre-assigned my seats for me no problem. Very helpful agent, glad I didnt go wasting my whole day calling AC!

Thanks for the help guys!
