Mini RTW Questions

I'm looking to book a mini-RTW in October or November of this year. My main goals are to get J seats on long-haul flights and stay as scamcharge free as possible. I'll be traveling over the Atlantic first, so I'm wondering what airlines are my options.
My first option was to do YYC-YUL-ZRH-AMS-IST, but reading the threads I've learned that getting J on LX from YUL-ZRH is very difficult. I want to end up in HKG coming from Europe.
What would others recommend in order to get:
- J over the Atlantic and from Europe-Asia
- scamcharge free
- do a layover in Amsterdam (possibly a stop)
- ultimately end up in HKG

For those of you who used LO as a cheaper YQ TATL alternative
YYZ-WAW RT went from $237 a couple weeks ago to $565 now - in line with the AC/LH/OS ripoff scamchaarges.
Basically YQ free TATL options remain UA,US,SK,TK,SN,MS,SQ,ET and LX.

Highway robbery. At least it's a 787, unlike the junky 767s AC flies...

I've accepted that RAR is not going to become available for me. :-(
Therefore, combing other valid itineraries from the last few months posted on here, I've thought of the following:
YOW - EWR UA
EWR - BRU UA (STOP)
BRU - IST TK
IST - BKK TK (STOP)
BKK - SIN SQ
SIN-SYD SQ (TURN)
SYD-AKL NZ
AKL-YVR NZ
YVR-ORD UA
ORD-YOW UA
Is this valid? It is the front end to SYD from one person, the back end from another...
(I hope so, I hope so, I hope so...)
Hate to lose the Pacific, but Europe for a couple of weeks is pretty pleasant.
If this is valid, I may book it tonight (or tomorrow)!

you ve found AKL-YVR space???? in J???
This should be allowed, since everything via SIN seems to work - but it does exceed MPM. You may need a couple (few) phone calls to finally let someone accept the via Europe/Asia route to SYD.

For all of it.
I know.
Also, I just want to say... thank you. You've responded to all of my MiniRTW questions on here, and for so many others. It is very much appreciated.

I think valid except that you might not be able to include BKK. I did a very similar trip recently but out of YUL instead of YOW. YUL-EWR-FRA-SIN-SYD-AKL-YVR-DEN-ORD-YUL. There was absolutely zero chance of getting BKK included in there, spoke with many agents, tried multiple differnt routings (including similar to what you posted), just not allowed. Even without BKK the trip is over MPM, but including SIN on SQ (both FRA-SIN and SIN-SYD were on SQ for me, not sure if they both needed to be) means it falls under published routings so it's allowed. I did a side trip on my own dime to BKK.

Booked!
Slight modification to my original plan, but only took 30 minutes on the phone with a very awesome agent. If you get Kim, don't hang up. She's the best.
I'll post more specifics in the proper thread, but...
YOW-EWR
EWR-BRU
BRU-IST
IST-BKK
BKK-SIN
SIN-SYD
SYD-SFO
SFO-ORD
ORD-YOW
All in Y.
Total cost including $30 call in fee?
$357.51 pp.
I am so thrilled. I've never been around the world before!!!!

Mini RTW Questions
Needed two. Weren't two available. We booked in the back on the seat guru recommended 2 seat row to SFO. I hate being at the back, but wasn't sure the $140 each for + was worth it. Was booked in + for Brussels leg for free for some reason. Paid to get my wife to join me.

Seat selection update. Managed to get decent seats for the United and Singapore flights. Thai booking not available yet. Hmmm.
For the SIN-SYD flight, we're on the A380-800. I managed to get upper deck seats. Economy, but still on the top floor. The 2-4-2 configuration online looks great for economy. (Row 73 if anyone is interested). Anyone fly SQ up top? How is it in Y?

The best seats on SQ up top are the ones at emergency exits right behind business class - vast amounts of legroom. Haven't sat in any other seats on the SQ A380, but it's generally nice and comfortable. Seats slide forward at the base as they recline, so your legroom is reasonably well protected.
