Sofitel Le Faubourg:
Handwritten welcome card from GM, two(!) bottles of Laurent Perrier champagne (delivered separately in same day, must be mistake), plus nut and fruit mix.

Is there any reason justifying this super VIP treatment (that you can agree to share with us) ?

We had booked a suite that did cost a lot. I don't know if all suite guests receives a bottle of champagne, but they should considering the price. The second bottle was probably just mistake from the hotel but I don't know for sure. However, I let the guest relations know that I wasn't satisfied with the arrival experience and that's another long story.

Then again, you pay for what you get and that Sofitel is pretty pricey, especially a suite. Hope your stay goes well and look forward to your review!

Hotel: Raffles Jakarta
Status: Platinum
VIP Treatment: I booked my Stay with the APAC promotional discount and 2,000 points. This is a very expensive hotel by Jakarta standards. This is only my second Raffles Hotel so I have next to no experience. When I booked my Stay I expected the usual Platinum Welcome drink voucher, a possible early check in if occupancy was not too high, and an upgrade to a high floor and larger room.
However, I was absolutely amazed by the Platinum treatment by this hotel (and the incredibly proactive, friendly, skillful customer service even considering the normal very high standards in Indonesia.)
The photos below provide most of the "facts" but I will mention a few things here that are not indicated in the photos.
1. Was informed of early check in at 10 am, 48 hours before check in.
2. Reception staff obviously waiting for me and immediately escorted to room for personalized check in. The very kind and friendly Director of Rooms was waiting in my room for me to help with the check in etc.
3. Was upgraded to a one bedroom Artist Suite on second top floor overlooking the pool and beautiful garden. Certainly this particular upgrade depended a bit on good luck and would certainly not be offered to me every time. Very good luck on this occasion.
4. In addition to written Welcome note from Raffles Jakarta, I also received a Welcome note from Raffles Siem Reap where I stayed earlier in the year. They knew from recent correspondence that I would be visiting this hotel. Correspondence regarding another Accor IT issue !
5. Trivia: All teas except Camomile use TWG real tea leaves rather than tea bags.
6. Although there is no Club Lounge, the Platinum benefits are equal to or better than a dedicated Club Lounge. This is what surprised me the most, along with the extra special customer service. The daily full buffet dinner was extremely high quality.
7. Butler brought an Evening Amenity also: the hotel's Signature "Jakarta Sling" plus a plate of snacks which I recognized from the three tiered afternoon tea service. Far too much food for me but I deeply appreciated the high quality.
8. A la Carte breakfast menu in addition to breakfast buffet but photos of menu would not upload.
Reaction: If looking for a true Luxury Stay I would not hesitate to return here. The only consideration is of course the room rate. The Director of Rooms is outstanding. I also met the GM twice. As usual, I did not waste the opportunity to ask them to keep the pressure on Accor to upgrade their centralized Customer Service and IT system. I felt that the normally very high room rate here was far better reflected in the quality of Platinum service than at Fairmont, the other Jakarta Luxury brand.

Wonderful! Ohhh now I'm really looking forward to my stay.
I have to say that the rates are actually not too bad - probably 30% higher than peak Pullman CP rates.
