Asia-Pacific is another animal.

UAE is defined by ACCOR as belonging to the Middle East. Free breakfast for platinum+ members is for Asia-Pacific, thus not a breach of the program to not offer free breakfast in Dubai.

Bazin has also previously spoken on the importance of F&B and locally inspired design when launching hotels, and this has certainly been applied to Emblems.

Each hotel will have an Emblematic Ingredient showcased throughout the experience, from welcome drinks to culinary workshops. Apples are the star of the show at Lucknam, starting with a warming mulled apple infusion at check-in, followed by dainty cakes in the suites, and a 1687 cocktail aperitif featuring apple brandy.
Accor apples have a new home!

What are peoples thoughts and experiences when staying at a newly opened/thoroughly renovated hotel?

On one hand I'm keen to experience everything new and pristine, with the entire staffing team sure to be aiming to please especially in a competitive market in Doha/Middle East.

On the other hand, teething problems in the hotel and lack of real world training/experience by staff is a concern and worry, nothing worse than paying to go to a nice new hotel and it lets you down!
Just to provide an update on the newly opened Swissotel in Doha....it is a DRY hotel! A real shame, I was looking forward to a staycation at the new property and enjoying the delights of the Executive/club lounge, now...not going to happen!

I really wonder why Accor subdues to such conditions by the owner...aren't there enough other properties, where the owner does not care...

There are surprisingly many chain hotels in ME that are dry, a Swissotel in Dubai being one of them. This is true for non-Accor chains as well.

Stay vigilant!

and is there a clear and transparent disclaimer at the official website of the hotels or do you have to find it out yourself the hard...i mean the dry way?

I've found out the dry way, and I've been vigilant ever after. The hotel websites aren't forthcoming on average, but there are some other websites that'll help.

Is that a Swissotel thing? I can tell, a Pullman I stayed in this year in Dubai was far from dry 😬.
