THanks, just could not get it to work ... Hotel managed to cancel the "non paid" reservation so 10/10 to them ....

Funny, as soon as they did this, the web site worked for me !

I've been trying to book a reservation for a week+ using my Amex and the site keeps saying:

We are sorry but your payment could not be done. Please verify your information and try again.
I contacted Amex and they've said Accor isn't even trying to charge the card so the issue is on their end.

Have you tried making the booking by phone?
(The "Accor website NOT accepting AMEX" thread is old, but Accor never really fixes things, do they?)

On my last few bookings I noticed that Accor is showing me a chargeable “add breakfast” option even if my Diamond status would entitle me to free breakfast. I never select it of course. But I wonder if the hotels would amend this upon check-out or just charge me for something I shouldnt be charged for…

for example:

booked Raffles Dubai on Saturday to Sunday (weekend in UAE) - prompted to add breakfast for a charge
booked Fairmont Manila Suite with Gold access - prompted to add breakfast for an additional charge
raffles Jakarta - prompted to add breakfast for additional charge

You just ignore this. Never had any problem.

That is apparently specific to the hotel, not the website in general. If you search a number of other properties, the list of currencies shortens considerably. I'm surprised the currency list is variable with the property, since the currency selection is just for convenience of display and not to actually book under. It seems strange not to just have a common currency list across the entire site.

When we've built websites that include a currency conversion, we've had an API to a conversion service, and they always included obsolete currencies in the service, but with an ability to filter them out. But I still don't understand the purpose of building the site with a different list by property, as that's just something that needs to be maintained, and for no apparent value.

I can only book via phonecalls now. The website seems broke and they seem to know and it's not been fixed for over 3 weeks. Unbelievable.

Back to having Amex issues again. Also my reservations page is crashing on multiple computers for me, in Safari and Chrome both.

My reservations were working yesterday. Just checked now, and it seems to be intermittently broken. Clicked on "Your Reservations" link, and it just spins and spins. Close browser, and try again, and same thing. Tried again, and it worked. Tried again, and it failed. Accor IT just doing what they do best!

I tried it in Safari and the Accor tab for reservations ended up using 23gb of ram!

Not sure how they don't have proper dev/testing at the size of company they are.
