Extending Points Validity

Hi

I understand that I need to earn points from a hotel stay in order to keep my points for another year.

My question is whether I can partially pay for that hotel stay with AClub vouchers

e.g. I stay one night in my nearest Novotel at an unrestricted rate of say 100, pay 80 of the bill with vouchers and the remaining 20 with cash

Presumably I earn points on the 20 spend? Is this enough to renew the points for another year? I have a lot of points and can't use soon but I don't want to lose them!!

Cheers

You most certainly can use your vouchers to pay partially for your room rate. And I think it qualifies as a stay for points extension purpose.

I'm not sure on the point accrual part. I recently paid for two rooms using vouchers. I got the full points and then some (some jackpot thingy), I ain't complaining

T & C's say that you'll receive full points for the booking - I.e the vouchers are treated exactly as if they were cash transaction. One of the few benefits of the program

Thanks for the confirmation, think I might make sure there's a small cash element just to be on the safe side...

That's great! One of the better aspects of the programme.

Hi,
Amounts paid using A|Club rewards gift vouchers do not generate A|Club points credit. You will earn points on the remaining 20(minus taxes). Thanks to this stay, your points' validity will be extended for 365 days.
Best wishes,
Dieu Anh

Extending Points?

Hi,
Have some points expiring in July. Don't have any hotel plans for the next two months. Any cheap way to accrue points?

Don't have enough for 2000 points to redeem for $40 or transfer to FFP's.
