There is no need to join the frequent flyer program on every new airline you fly. Look at what ff partners they have. QR is Oneworld Alliance. Your QR flight could have been credited to AsiaMiles, if an eligible flight. You can retro claim for the miles if within the timeline and you have the documentation.

CX + QR. Both AAdv and BAEC sounds like good programs. Perhaps BAEC even better with its strength within Asia.
Edit: Oh no, I forgot about the BAEC metal requirement. Then AA should be easier for OP.
The BA 2/4 segment rule is only for status. Cheep economy flight earn little towards status with any ffp.
