Does anyone have experience or know if the UA ticket office at Penn Station NYC can handle ticketing with PMUA Type B vouchers?

UA Type B Vouchers

I just used 2 UA Type B vouchers at IAD. It took several ticketing agents to figure out what to do. The whole process took a little over an hour. I am glad that it was a slow time at IAD. The one who eventually figured it out was a retired CO employee who was brought back temporarily to assist with the transition. She said that the retirees will be there until the end of April. I consider myself lucky.

Corrected, it is as follows:

United Airlines
PO Box 1394
Houston, TX 77251-1394

The following page verifies the address and provides some other helpful information:

Are you sure 77205 is incorrect? This is the zip code that they gave me when I setup my reservation on 6/11.

Per the USPS website's zip-code look up tool, the correct zip code for the PO Box is 77251

Talked to a 1K agent this morning to book flights from HNL-LAS and said that I was using type B vouchers. I should have known it was going downhill when he asked, "What are type B vouchers?"

I told him I had $800 in paper certs and he said that UA no longer accepts paper certs and that I needed to convert all of them into electronic certs and started to walk me through the process. He also said it would take three to five days for me to get the electronic codes after which I could then book flights

I asked if I could just do it at the united club and he said it was not possible. I said I'll just do it another time.

I then jumped in my car and went to the UA office and they did it, no questions asked.

Exchanging paper certificate for electronic

Thanks to this thread, I was able to change a $20 paper travel voucher from November 2011 (expiration Nov 12) to an e-cert. And, happy to discover, the expiration date got changed to August 2013, a year from now.

Here is the link:

Otherwise, I typed in www.united.com/papercertificate

Thanks to FT !

When did "Paper Certificate Exchange" launch?

This is a great idea! https://secure.unitedmileageplus.com...teExchange.jsp

I see it mentioned in passing at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/19133272-post9.html but we had no idea that it was an option when we used a paper AB cert at the airport last week! It says online that UA no longer accepts paper certs for ticketing at airport locations, but that has not yet been our experience.

Cool, thanks for the links. I missed this by using different search terms.
