The suite had a normal (compact) room as a bedroom. As for breakfast, we got a card stating ‘continental’ but once in the restaurant we could pick out anything we liked. The breakfast was very complete, with lots of variety, but not really the high quality ingredients and preparation you would expect from a fine French hotel. I have no experience at all with the W, as I tend not to like that style.
It's all based on occupancy. Also, I think it's less generous these days than when the prior GM was there. For example, I don't think Ambassador suites are in the upgrade pool anymore. In the past, I have gotten Ambassador suites and no suite upgrade and most recently, a nice upgrade to their (somewhat small) standard suite. My experience is if they have them, you will get them. However, I'd be interested in kn owing how it worked out over Easter.

My last 3 times - Ambassador suite (5 years ago), no suite (2 years ago), standard suite (6 months ago). Same status all stays, and I've been staying there since it was an Intercontinental.

I had an Ambassador suite for my last stay (using SNA).

Did you have to do anything special to request it or did they just give you the Ambassador suite? Did you book a regular room? I have a 5 night award stay booked for a regular room and I'm planning on using my SNA

Hi, I justed checked out from the Westin Paris - excellent hotel. Definitely go check-in at the platinum desk, they will take good care of you.
@fr33b13 regarding the breakfast, in addition to earlier replies: the breakfast platinum gift is limited to 2 people in your booking, regardless how many rooms you've booked or how many people you are.

Thanks for the tip! Is the platinum desk in easy view or off to the side?

It'll just be two of us so sounds like I'm good on breakfast.

Definitely, there is even a sign with an arrow, it's just left from the reception corner.

Junior Suite with a view or Prince de Galle Art Deco room?

We are booked to stay in a Junior Suite with a view at the Westin Paris in June. After reading such mixed reviews we are confused. We could switch our reservation to Prince De Galle (Art Deco room) but the location of the Westin and the view is enticing. Will the Junior Suite with a view make up for the deficiencies of the hotel? We are so excited for this trip and do not want to be worrying about the hotel. Thank you in advance!

We did a week earlier this month in a Junior Suite with Eiffel Tower view on the top floor, and we were *very* happy with the room. Granted, it wasn't *huge* (it is, after all, a *junior* suite), but it was very nice with a sitting area, a large walk-in closet, four (yes four) other closets, vaulted ceilings, and two small balconies. The view was quite nice, looking over Le Jardain des Tuileries, with the Musee d'Orsay across the way, the Eiffel Tower off in the (not too far) distance, la Place de la Concorde, the Louvre, and notable Paris landmarks visible from the balconies.

And while others have noted that the hotel perhaps feels a little tired, honestly, I didn't get that feeling at all. I found it quite lovely, with very friendly and accommodating staff. We were even given an escort to our room (with a mini-tour of the property) by one of the managers upon checking into the hotel.

All in all, next time I visit Paris, I would definitely stay at the Westin again.

Did it show as a specific choice when you requested the SNA online? If so, that's great news, it didn't as or 11/2015, my last stay, and my previous stay (2014 or 2014)

No I had chosen a different upgrade and this was given to me when I checked in.

I've never stayed in a Paris hotel in July. For those who experienced the Westin Vendome during that month, could you report the type of guests that were staying at the hotel?

You asked the same for the Prince de Galles. I must confess it's a strange question. I've seen wide varieties of people at both hotels, though I avoid traveling to Europe during summer. I most often am in Paris in May, Oct, Nov, or Dec.

The choice between these two hotels is as much about location as price point. I LOVE the PdG...and I really like the Westin. It's one of the nicest Westins in the world IMO. But I LOVE the Vendome area of Paris. So for me, I tend to the Westin most often.

Agreed on the oddity of the question. I don't get what you're asking.

Perhaps the poster wants to know if the summer tourist rabble frequents the hotels.

Ahh...so if the question is: will a US chain hotel in a great location be populated by tourists during the peak travel season in Paris, then the answer is...wow, toughie...will need to noodle on it a bit more. I wish the answer was at least somewhat obvious but it's just not there for me.
