Wine List

Champagne

Charles Heidsieck Blanc De Millenaires 2004, Champagne, France
The prestige cuvee of Charles Heidsieck. This is only the 4th vintage ever released of this champagne. A joyful champagne that keeps you satisfied til the last sip. This is a classic Blanc de Blancs champagne made from 100% Chardonnay and it oozes elegance. Expect flavours of patisserie, vanilla bean, dried figs, white peach and citrus oils. The palate keeps on delivering with a round creamy feel, freshness and pure class.

White

Heemskerk Riesling 2017, Tasmania
Heemskerk is a boutique winery located in Tasmania's Coal River Valley devoted to producing contemporary wines from ancient soils. This Riesling is a blend of two great vineyards presenting lifted aromatics of white flowers and citrus blossom. As a delicate expression of what can be an austere varietal, the palate is soft and plus with beautiful acidity and length.

Gembrook Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Ian and June Marks decided that this vineyard was ideal for cool climate Sauvignon Blanc and went on to produce one of the most elegant examples of the varietal in Australia. Sensitivity in the vineyard develops exotic tropical fruits, balancing them with savoury herbs and wild currant leaf. A deft hand in the winery results in gentle texture and weight making this a mineral wine with true finesse.

Brokenwood IV-BC76 Chardonnay 2015, Beechworth, Victoria
Brokenwood wines began in the Hunter Valley in 1970 and after years of success have expanded into some single vineyard sites in other great Australian wine regions. Grapes for this Chardonnay are sourced from the Indigo vineyard in Beechworth Victoria. It has lovely ripe tropical and stone fruit characters that jump from the glass. The palate is full, rich and creamy with just enough fresh acidity to provide excellent structure and finesse.

Red

Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017, Tasmania
Tolpuddle Vineyard was established in 1988 in the Coal River Valley, Tasmania. The 2016 Pinot Noir is ruby red with crimson tints at the rim. A beautifully scented wine, with hints of blueberry, cedar and Chinese five spice. The palate is light on its feet, with a firm core of fruit and a layered texture.

Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2015, Barossa Valley, South Australia
Considered by some to be an outlier, this wine is a perfect counterpoint to the traditional Australian Shiraz. St Henri is a pure expression of fruit, and is uniquely untouched by new oak barrels. The complex spiced characters, heady floral aromas and velvety texture are all coaxed out of the Shiraz grape, and the grape alone.

Kilikanoon Tregea Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Clare Valley, South Australia
Displaying perfect characteristics for the inflight palate, Kevin Mitchell has created a full-bodied, balanced wine with dark berries and hints of eucalypt on the nose, followed consistently through to the palate with blackcurrant. Balance and structure is delivered through fine Clare tannins and cedary oak.

Dessert

Lillypilly Noble Blend 2015, Riverina, New South Wales
This is one stunningly aromatic dessert wine with tropical fruits and glorious fresh vital passionfruit, lychees and pineapple. This wine is a lighter style with lively acidity supporting the fruit characters. Sweet but balanced and seamless in delivery, it will leave you wanting more.

Wine List

Champagne

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2007, Champagne, France
The prestige cuvee of Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne first appeared in 1952. A Blanc de Blanc, the Chardonnay grapes are sourced from prized vineyards including Grand Cru sites in Avize and Cramant. The 2006 is a powerful, refined and expressive Champagne, this vintage is showing citrus fruit aromas, lime blossom and notes of caramelised grapefruit. It has a great length and complexity and is a perfect wine to begin a fine meal, yet could be enjoyed throughout.

A deft hand in the winery results in gentle texture and weight making this a mineral wine with true finesse.

Levantine Hill Katherine's Paddock Chardonnay 2016, Yarra Valley, Victoria
While representing the newest generation of interest and growth in the Yarra Valley, Levantine Hill has carved out a place for itself. In general, the wines are robust, and on the stronger end of all things Yarra Valley. The Katherine's Paddock vineyard basks in cool mountain breezes and gentle morning sun, giving it the opportunity to slowly but fully ripen into a decadent expression of Chardonnay.

Levantine Hill Syrah 2015, Yarra Valley, Victoria
For a young winery, Levantine Hill are producing some sophisticated styles that are beautiful expressions of the region. All grapes are harvested, sorted and plunged by hand. Coming from a cool climate, this Shiraz presents medium bodied and savoury, abundant with characters drawn from the earth. Subtle yet complex, underlying oak carries the fruit weight for a lingering finish.

Flametree S.R.S. Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Margaret River, Western Australia
This is the sixth S.R.S. Cabernet Sauvignon released from Flametree Wines. This is a classic Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon produced from a fantastic Margaret River vintage. It shows all the perfume and structure that make Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon wines so famous. Lifted blackberries, mulberry, plums, earth and dark chocolate dominate the nose and palate at this early stage.

The 2011 Late Bottled Vintage Port hails from a single vintage but spends four to six years in barrel before bottling, giving it a mellower edge. Rich and intense with a sleek, firm tannic structure, the nose and palate are saturated with velvety cherry and blackberry fruit and tinged with warm, peppery spice. A sumptuous accompaniment to rich chocolate desserts, a range of cheese or the perfect post dinner treat.

Dom Perignon 2008
Serving the 2008 vintage on board represents the latest chapter of a 28-year story resulting in Emirates becoming the number one global partner of Dom Perignon. At the beginning of 2019 Vincent Chaperon became the new Dom Perignon Chef de Cave. He succeeded Richard Geoffroy, with whom he has been working since 2005. This passing of the torch coincides with the declaration of Dom Perignon Vintage 2008, blending Richard's comprehensive knowledge with Vincent's audacious intuition. The 2008 has a complex bouquet, showing white flowers, apricot, citrus and aniseed. Dry, pure and focused, the crystal clear fruit flavours are framed by succulent acidity, with a hint of toast on the finish.

White Wine

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2017
Clare Valley, Australia
Established in 1981, the Grosset winery is situated in South Australia's renowned Clare Valley. The four estate-owned vineyards are located at higher altitude and each is organic. Polish Hill is an Australia icon and exemplifies the style of Riesling that Clare Valley is famous for. The 2017 is tight and focused with lemon and lime flavours overlaying intriguing notes of crushed rock. Dry, with a vibrant fresh acidity, it has a pure, citrus led finish.

Giaconda Estate Vineyard Chardonnay 2015
Beechworth, Australia
Rick Kinzbrunner worked through top vineyards in California and Bordeaux, learning the value of a long, slow ripening period. His Chardonnay is subsequently planted on a cool south-facing slope in sub-alpine Victoria and is recognised by many as the best Chardonnay in Australia. The 2015 is youthful but complex, showing aromas of nectarine, white peach and spice. It is dry, with flavours of nutmeg and apricot leading to a fresh, lingering finish.

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Marlborough, New Zealand
Marlborough, in the north of New Zealand's South Island, is known for producing wines with explosive character that jump at you from the glass. Cloudy Bay is a leader of the category and epitomises this style. The 2018 will be served on no other airline but Emirates. This exuberant wine is bursting with aromas of orchard blossom, passion fruit and lime. Dry and medium-bodied, it is concentrated and mouthwatering with a fine minerality.

Saint-Aubin blanc 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes
Domaine Roux 2017
Burgundy, France
Domaine Roux was established in 1885 with just 4 hectares in the Burgundian village of Saint-Aubin. Today, it is one of the largest landholders in the region, wholly owned by the 4th and 5th generation of the family. Its vines are planted on east and south facing slopes, with premium exposures. This 2017 shows floral aromas with hints of toasted nuts. It is dry and medium bodied with flavours of lemon zest toast and honey and a long complex finish.

Red Wine

Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2006
Pessac-Leognan, France
Since taking over this property in 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard have lavished it with care, attention and considerable investment for which the red Cru Classe de Graves 2009 was rewarded a perfect 100 point score by esteemed wine critic Robert Parker. The 2006 has an intense and pure nose of blackcurrant and blackberry. The palate is dry and medium-bodied with firm, fine tannins and a clean and fresh, persistent black fruit finish.

Mount Mary Quintet 2013
Yarra Valley, Australia
Established in 1971 by John and Marli Middleton, Mount Mary was one of the first vineyards planted during the resurgence of the Yarra Valley as a premium wine region. It is now regarded as one of Australia's premier cool climate Cabernet blends. The aromas are dominated by violets, cherries, blackcurrant and spice, with a level of vibrancy only seen in the very best vintages. The palate is built around beautifully ripe, ultra-fine grained tannin.

Savaterre Shiraz
Victoria, Australia
Just outside the town of Beechworth lies the Savaterre vineyard where the mild summer days and cool elevation of the Victorian Alps create a magical combination. The site was discovered in 1996 by Keppell Smith, a former broker, after an extensive search through Australia's quality wine regions. We have procured parcels of 2013 and 2014, either to be served on today's flight. These wines show spice, smoke and floral tones. Full-bodied and complex, they possess silky tannins overlaid with dark fruits and earthy notes.

Chateau Cote de Baleau Grand Cru 2011
Saint-Emilion, France
Owned by the Reiffers family since the reign of Louis XIV, Chateau Cote de Baleau was managed and co-owned by Sophie Fourcade, a direct descendant, until 2013. Since 2013 it has been owned by Philippe Cuvelier of 1er Grand Cru Classe, Chateau Clos-Fourtet, but Sophie still manages the property. The 2011 has a ripe nose with blackcurrant, blackberry liqueur and raspberry notes. It is medium-bodied with well-rounded tannins, dried black fruits and hints of toast.

Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2017
Central Otago, New Zealand
Owned by US importer Marquis Sauvage, Burn Cottage is arguably one of the most exciting producers of New Zealand. The key to its success has been the involvement of winemaker Ted Lemon, owner of Sonoma's Littorai Estate and former manager of Domaine Roulot in Meursault. His biodynamic approach in the vineyard has paid dividends. This 2017 has crushed cherry, raspberry jam and rose petal aromas. It is medium-bodied with silky tannins and a long, red berry finish.

Dessert

Vin de Constance Klein Constantia 2013
Coastal Region, South Africa
Klein Constantia dates back to 1685 when Simon van der Stel chose this spectacular location for his vast and fertile farm called "Constantia". Constantia's wine, prized by leaders and aristocracy including Napoleon and Queen Victoria, was believed to have healing powers. The 2013 shows a rich bouquet of honeycomb, apricot and white plum. Lusciously sweet, yet well balanced with a cleansing acidity, it explodes with quince and ginger flavours.

Port

Dow's Colheita Port 1978
Douro Valley, Portugal
The word "colheita" means "harvest" and this word is used to describe a port from a single year that has been aged in wood for over seven years. Dow's colheitas are aged for considerably longer, and this venerable port house has one of the finest collections of cask-aged ports in existence today. This 1978 shows intense aromas of date, almond, walnut and molasses. It is sweet, silky and sensual, with impressive persistence.

Dom Perignon Vintage 2002 - Plenitude 2
The uniqueness of each vintage of Dom Perignon lies in the way it evolves - not in a linear way but through successive windows of expression. Cellar master Vincent Chaperon refers to these points in time as "plenitudes", the Plenitude 2 representing the second release of this celebrated vintage. Due to our longstanding relationship with Dom Perignon, Emirates has been granted unique access to this limited release and is the only airline to serve it on board. Rich and multi-layered, it has exotic oriental aromas such as crystallised fruits, marzipan, fresh saffron and coriander. These develop in the glass into a profound and mineral-toned harmonious bouquet. Its vibrant yet generous palate, powerful and precise with great energy, leads to a persistent, spicy and saline finish.

White Wine

Tablas Creek Espirit blanc de Tablas 2014
Paso Robles, California, USA
Tablas Creek Vineyard is the result of a decades-long friendship between the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas, longtime US importer. The families created a partnership in 1985 and in 1989 purchased a 120-acre property in the hilly Las Tablas district of west Paso Robles. The 2014 has aromas of pears, orange blossom and hazelnut. The palate is dry and fresh, with apple, jasmine and citrus flavours leading to a long, spicy finish.

Moone, Tsai Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2016
California, USA
This wine, from Larry and MaryAnn Tsai, hails from the Charles Heintz Vineyard located near the rocky Sonoma County coastline. The nearby Pacific brings cooling fog over the vineyard nightly during the growing season, encouraging patient ripening and the development of delicate flavours. This 2016 shows stone fruit and candied grapefruit peel aromas. It is dry and medium-bodied with a pleasing acidity and subtle, complex white peach, citrus, biscuit and toast flavours.

Clos Floridene Blanc 2015
Graves, France
A 40-hectare estate owned by Florence Dubourdieu, wife of the late Denis Dubourdieu, it is one of the greatest exponents of white Bordeaux. Developed from a small "clos" planted with 2 ha of old white vines composed of Semillon and Muscadelle, the vineyard acquired its present size through the successive purchase of further parcels. This 2015 has aromas of white peach, citrus and fresh pastry. It is dry with a waxy texture and impressive energy on the finish.

Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay 2016
Napa Valley, United States
This historic winery dates back to 1875 when Jacob and Frederick Beringer purchased 215 acres of pristine land in the Napa Valley. Industry leaders since the beginning, they were the first to introduce gravity-fed cellars and now host the largest solar installation of any winery in California. The 2016 has aromas of peaches and cream with subtle toast notes. The palate is dry with grapefruit, mango and a hint of nutmeg on a fresh but ample finish.

Red Wine

Chateau Lagrange 2006
Saint-Julien, France
Chateau Lagrange underwent a renaissance after being purchased by the Suntory Group in 1983. Key to its resurgence was the employment of Marcel Ducasse as general manager. The much lauded 2006 represents Ducasse's last vintage before retirement after 23 years at this third growth. This wine has a lively bouquet of blackberry, bramble and violet. Medium-bodied with well-balanced acidity, the finish is long with subtle tobacco and toast notes.

Donelan Walker Vine Hill Syrah 2013
Sonoma County, USA
Joe Donelan began his wine journey in the 1980s, led by an inspired sommelier in Nantucket. His love of wine led him to California, where he established a business, now called Donelan Family Wines. As a "Rhone Ranger", the winery specialises in making Syrah from Sonoma County. The 2013 has notes of blackberry, liquorice and incense. Full-bodied with ripe, silky tannins, it has intensely concentrated black fruit flavours and hints of exotic spice.

Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cry Taupenot-Merme 1997
Burgundy, France
Despite being based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, the 14-hectare domaine of Taupenot-Merme has parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin's Grand Crus of Charmes-Chambertin and Mazoyeres-Chambertin, as well as on the legendary hill of Corton. It is run by Romain Taupenot and his sister Virginie. This 1997 has a perfume of cranberry, potpourri and a hint of earth. Medium-bodied and fully mature, it has fine, silky tannins that meld into soft berry fruit.

Chateau Moulinet 2009
Pomerol, France
Chateau Moulinet is one of the oldest estates in Pomerol and also one of the largest, incorporating 18 hectares of vines in one single plot. The estate belonged to several important Libourne families before being bought by the aspirational negociant Cellar Privilege in 2016. The 2009 shows ripe black fruits with a hint of raspberry coulis and some smoky oak notes. It is medium-bodied with firm tannins and persistent graphite-tinged blackberry liqueur flavours.

Domaine Anderson Pinot Noir 2014
Mendocini County, USA
The Anderson Valley's warm days and fog-cooled nights led Jean-Claude Rouzaud, patriarch of the Louis Roederer family, to this remote area in 1981 to begin cultivation of premium Pinot Noir. This wine is made exclusively from estate-grown fruit using sustainable practices. This 2014 shows aromas of blackberry and forest floor, with a hint of cinnamon. It has a medium-bodied palate with great elegance, showing notes of bay leaf and toasted anise on the finish.

Dessert

Vin de Constance Klein Constantia 2013
Coastal Region, South Africa
Klein Constantia dates back to 1685 when Simon van der Stel chose this spectacular location for his vast and fertile farm called "Constantia".
