Read through the thread and it seemed like some of you guys are calling in to have the tickets ticketed right away, should we do that?
No, just go through the usual process.

I was ticketed in about 30 seconds via aa.com; email arrived a few minutes later.

Calling will not speed up the process if it has been intentionally delayed.

People are calling to achieve more complex things than can be done on the website. Generally speaking, calling the airline is discouraged when it is at least potentially a mistake fare.

On the other hand, unless the oneworld joint venture revenue management team has taken the day off I don't see how this can have escaped their notice. In London it is already midday.

My e-ticket only took a few minutes to come through so I wouldn't bother but YMMV ^

I received the email confirmation as well about ten minutes after the booking. So that means the ticket is safe, or can they still cancel it?

Yes it might be cancelled. Wait a few days and let's see how this plays out.

Your family will get miles too if they have their own accounts and they add the frequent flier numbers to the booking

I don't think LAN is very good even objectively speaking but I might be wrong.
