Everywhere-CEB from $769 UA 3.6cpm

Found a good mileage deal on UA to Cebu, Philippines from seemingly everywhere I tried. Fares are high $700's to $800's with travel from now to April-ish

Fare requires overnight connection in HKG, 5 day min travel. After this flight, not sure if you would be sane if you flew back right away. Not sure about stopovers. All flights are UA metal except for HKG-CEB. Visa is not required for US passport holders.

Hard to price it on ITA, but easily available on UA's website

Outstanding find.

Add MSP to the list...$783 or so.

I saw trips 4 days and up using UAL's flexible search tool.

Definitely can do 4 days out of Chicago. 4.3cpm out of the Chi and essentially 2 overnights in HKG, there and back. I need another trip like this like I need another hole in my head. How great of a deal is this? Is this significantly cheaper than the normal cost of a flight to Cebu?

Also wanted to add, if you don't live in one of these cities check out the regional airports. CID (cedar Rapids, IA) is 30 minutes from me and it added $20 to the cost of the ticket. Compare that to a 3.5 hour drive to Chicago and back.

This is tempting, even as a quick spur-of-the-moment trip.

PDX $784, as well as EUG. Affordable flights out of EUG are seemingly rare.

Seems to be available from anywhere and everywhere. Cebu is a great tourist destination. Looks like an amazing place.

According to the fare rules, 2 stopovers are permitted at $100/each. Not sure if taxes will go up by doing that - I didn't try, but some might be able to get a nice longer stopover on the way at HKG.

Also found ex-SJU: SJU-EWR-SFO-HKG-CEB-HKG-SFO-EWR-SJU 24298 miles at $743, 3.1 cpm

The rainy season here is pretty much over now. The weather should be nice until roughly September.

$784 from ROA and $789 from CHO. Wow. Thanks, OP! I did not know that UA sold flights on CX metal. All the cheapest options for me do involve overnighting in HKG and continuing on CX, but for about $50 more, I can go through ICN on OZ on some itineraries. Be careful with your math if you want to consider this for PQM/PQS, since cheap OZ fares earn only 70% PQM and 0 PQS, and you may actually find more PQM on the routings with CX at the end (and there's no long stopover, which you might perceive as favorable or not). I've got my eye on a great itinerary in April and hope it will still be available after I'm paid tomorrow! I forgot that farelock was not allowed with partners/codeshare.

Everywhere-CEB from $769 UA 3.6cpm

Will I earn miles on UA if ticket is sold by UA but operated on CX metal from HKG to CEB?

You will not earn PQM on CX metal HKG-CEB, but you will earn PQD.

Looking at the routing rules, it's possible to get an overnight in HNL although that'll tack on an extra $200 or so and bring it up to 4.6cpm which is a full cent higher than the original. From there, you can route through NRT to HKG, or GUM to MNL.

It's also possible to get an overnight in HNL en route to GUM via the Island Hopper if leaving HNL on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. (The fare rules state that the trans-Pacific travel must begin on Mon - Thur so as long as origin departure initiates within those guidelines, you can take UA154 on Friday if you get to HNL on Thursday.)

Here's an example routing for $1,107 for 22,300 miles or 4.96cpm via UA154.

Apr 14
UA015, 0910 EWR - HNL 1415
Apr 15
UA154, 0725 HNL - GUM 1705+1
Apr 16
UA183, 1915 GUM - MNL 2110
Apr 17
PR2841, 0500 MNL - CEB 0615

Apr 23
OZ710, 0050 CEB - ICN 0620
UA078, 1140 ICN - NRT 1410
UA880, 1855 NRT - HNL 0655
UA014, 2010 HNL - EWR 1157+1

For the medium-difficulty trip, try EWR-HNL-NRT-HKG-CEB (with 19 hours in HNL) and CEB-ICN-NRT-HNL-EWR (with 13 hours in HNL) at $914 for 23,124 miles or 3.95cpm.
