As of 6/19/2014, Walmart does not accept debit transactions above $49.99 from cards issued by Bancorp, namely Vanilla Visas (OV, VGC, etc.). Attempts result in "Alternate Tender Required," "Debit Not Available," and/or some other error message, at both registers and the Money Center Express (MCE, kiosk, Kate, ATM).

Has anybody with the decline issue called the number on the back of the card to ask what's up and see if a rep can at least see the attempted transaction? Most likely will be clueless and be of no help, but seems like it would be worth a shot.

I just tried 2 different cards at Kate. Yesterday the machine worked fine to load $1500. Today I tried $500 with one Vanilla card and got the 94 error. Then tried $100 on the other card and got 96 error code.
Looks like I'll have to take other measures to unload these. Luckily I only have $2K to worry about and not ten.

Loaded $2k OV this morning at 11:40am AZ time. Went back to finish up the other $4k at about 5pm and none of them would work. Tried to load at Kate and then at a cashier and neither would work. Tried 4 different cards.
Error code was 96
See what happens tomorrow and hope its just a glitch...
