If and when a particular strike begins and flights are actually beginning to be cancelled, you can call LH and ask for a rebooking/rerouting.
LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

Against the background of the announced strike by the Independent Flight Attendant’s Organization (UFO) on Lufthansa flights on Thursday 26th of November, Friday, 27th of November and Monday, 30 of November 2015, Lufthansa is trying to keep the effect of the strike on its customers as low as possible.

Lufthansa returns to almost normal operations from Saturday onwards

After the end of the longest strike in the company’s history, Lufthansa will already return to almost normal operations on Saturday and will offer its customers the usual service as soon as possible.
All scheduled long-haul connections will be able to operate on Saturday. Furthermore the long-haul connections from Frankfurt to Hong Kong, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, which were scheduled to take off on late Friday evening, will be delayed to Saturday morning. Thus a cancellation of these connections can be avoided.
Lufthansa will also return to almost normal operations on short- and medium-haul flights on Saturday. Due to operational reasons, there can be occasional flight cancellations, if the aircraft or crews are not yet at the site of operation.
Lufthansa would like to sincerely apologize again to all customers, who have been affected by the strike of the Independent Flight Attendant’s Union (UFO) during the past days. The company has done its utmost to keep the effects on their customers as low as possible.
Altogether the company was forced to cancel approximately 4,700 flights during seven strike days. Affected by these cancellations were approximately 550,000 passengers.

Due to the strike actions Lufthansa has to cancel 126 long-haul and 10 continental connections resulting in about 27.300 passengers being affected by flight cancelations. Nearly all German and European continental flights will be operated as scheduled.

LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

My point of view would be not to be too picky in such cases and to focus m ore on the aspect of getting from A to B in time.
If you've booked via travel agent, your agent will be authorised to rebook within certain boundries. You can discuss with the TA which options you have.
(By the way, the UA longhaul C product isn't too bad and you can always retro claim the original routing miles with LH later)

In any case LH will first try to rebook you onto LH Group carriers, then *A, then OAL. So if seats are available on LX ex LAX (very unlikely, LH/LX sell well out of LAX) you will be rebooked onto that as a first option.

That's unfortunately what I was fearing from the beginning: if LH is on strike and LX is fully booked I'll end up on UA, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. My only chance is that LH doesn't go on strike on that specific day.

In such case will BLR-FRA remain on ground in BLR and be flown as LH 755 on July 2nd or will it be rescheduled and no flight for me on July 2nd due to no incoming flight FRA-BLR (LH754) on July 1st?

I was seriously considering changing my flight to an evening flight on 6/30, but that adds a night of hotel in Naples and takes a day away from spending in Germany, so I am thinking I'll hold on for now...

If something happens they can always put you on Austrian or Swiss. If not there is Air Berlin, Air France, Alitalia with one stop.

You would expect that LH would prefer grounding the flights in Germany rather than at international destinations but that was not the case.
