Great strategy when LH Group bookings ex-BEG are down 15% on average compared to last year 
But never mind, I'm sure there are other idiots like me around, paying 50€ more to fly LX rather than JU for the lunacy of chasing FTL requalification!

Way too early. Check around the 2nd week of October or have your travel agent follow for you.
Usually though every year (or at least for the past few years) there have been good C and A fares starting typically around 18DEC and continuing through about 07JAN to North America ex-Italy. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for in the Lufthansa fares, you may wish to check some codeshare possibilities with UA and AC who tend to open a fair amount of inventory with access to the sale which at least up till and including Xmas/NYE 2013 were booking into Z and could ticket on 014/016 inventories.
