Niagara Falls - Tourist "fees"
Has I always see some "unknown" fee and I kinda shrugged it off thought there was no "choice" but to pay for it!
A bit older article but very interesting. Next time I should really check this! Not only for hotels but even coffee shops! You can even ask them to remove it.

When I stayed @ Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls last month here is how my bill looks like...

HST Tax 21.19
Resort Fee - HST 1.29
Self Parking 20.00
HST Tax 2.70
PF 0.76
Credit Card -218.86

It's annoying, those "voluntary" fees, when they should be simply absorbed into the "cost of doing business"....... just like airlines should include tax/fees/fuel surcharges
I was never aware of it until recently also (after reading some TripAdvisor reviews), but will keep this in mind next time I visit Niagara Falls area
