If you do not need a visa to enter either country, I would go for the cheapest transit.

But, SIN is simply way more nicer for any passenger...so many facilities in the airport (airport hotels, showers, entertainment (movie theater, gardens), restaurants, etc).

So, I would suggest SIN ...simply so you can see one of the most efficient airports on this planet.
