Maldives or Sri Lanka advice sought
Hi all,
Im new to this forum and um planing to visit Sri lanka or maldives this summer.
can you suggest good websites which gives more info.I found these sites which has related info . any other suggestions

I'm interested in Sri Lanka as well. Time frame is around late December/early January this year. I've been poking around Galle/Unawatuna/Mirissa.
My interests are pretty simple, a beach cottage would be fine (though AC would be nice), snorkeling, fishing, sailing maybe, good local cooking, a visit to local parks/animal watching/hiking, places to have a pint (which is why the Maldives is out; I am not interested in the costs involved with a high-end resort and if you're not on a resort island, alcohol is forbidden- if it wasn't I'd probably consider a stay on the non-resort islands). It's on a trip where I'll end up in Bangkok in a higher-end hotel, so being someplace pleasant but not opulent for this part of my trip is fine. To give you an idea... when on Bali I ended up in Lovina at Rambutan, far away from the high-end resorts in Nusa Dua and thought it was fine (heck, who knows, if I can find CX award space, maybe I'll go back instead of going to Sri Lanka)...

. beach-side cottage would be nicee.. :-::-: .Any idea about Kandy or Nuwaraeliyea . Is it rainy out there in countryside?

Looks like my OH and I will be headed to Sri Lanka. Container ship passage got cancelled due to a major reroute and UL has decent BC fares.
