JET airways gone stale
a few years ago it was a pleasure to fly India's jet airways.. professional
staff, on time performance, clean cabins, good food, and all that...
Yesterday June 30 I took Jet airways from Mumbai to Hong Kong.
Flight departed on time, it was an ageing A-330... depressing cabin,
soiled and dirty seats, horrible colors, TV console unable to hold in
any position, seat cushion almost eroded, tray table tiliting at an angle
unable to secure the food tray in a horizontal postion, add to that
(a) Horrible, snobbish staff... 30 minutes into the flight they come and
dump a "snack" along with a drinks cart that served me 4 oz of
rum and coke and NEVER again showed up for 5 hours...
rush rush service and no concern for passengers needing more
time to finish their meal..
(b) then just about 1 hour to landing they start the "breakfast"
service, just as they handed me the food tray, pilot announces
"we are commencing our initial descent".... and the rush began
suddenly FAs showed up handing out "immigration forms" totally
oblivious to the fact they had 5 hours to do so... instead of handing
it while folks are eating ... and then while I was barely beginning
to eat.. they come to collect the trays....
Pathetic... so sad to see such a professional airline suddenly plunge
to such a miserable level... staff spent most of the time "resting"
or "chatting"... even while serving food...
It is time Jet management took a "undercover" flight and experience
it for themselves... I in the mean time don't plan on a "Jet Airways"
flight anytime soon... even Air Asia and Malindo are better carriers
