Doubletree Kuala Lumpur - booked standard room, upgraded to Executive room, no suite available
Hilton PJ - booked standard room, upgraded to Deluxe room, no suite available..
Asked for suite for both property, and replied none available..

5 night stay, cash. Booked standard king and received king master suite. It is very impressive and spacious with spectacular views. Excellent diamond recognition; very nice property!

Doubletree Virginia Beach - Presidential Suite for a 4 night stay. Was told it was very special as I'm a Lifetime Diamond. Nice to have 2 full bathrooms!

I stayed there twice (King room, cash rate) over the last two weekends at the end of September 2016. As Labor Day weekend was behind us, the entire town (hotel included) saw the usual crash in visitor numbers. Diamond, no mention of an upgrade.

Let me pass on my shock/congratulations.
I stayed there twice (King room, cash rate) over the last two weekends at the end of September 2016. As Labor Day weekend was behind us, the entire town (hotel included) saw the usual crash in visitor numbers. Diamond, no mention of an upgrade.

So now, when traveling with my wife and would like an upgrade, when they say thank you for being a Diamond, I ask if it shows that I'm a lifetime diamond as I just obtained the honor and don't know what shows up on the screen. We have a nice conversation about it and end up with a nice upgrade.
