Arrived at LAX for the start of a 3 week vacation, so had a good look around to see what was new.
I can confirm the 2013 Avalon is tagged YI
There were a couple of 2013 merc GL450s as well as plenty of the old model
2013 Sentra has arrived (tagged C).
That was it, but it was very thin indeed - so much so that I ended up with a massive involuntary downgrade on a pre-paid reservation. Am staying 3 blocks away so will be going back tomorrow morning to swap, as they had lots of cars, just not cleaned up ready for the Monday morning exodus.

Was very surprised to find one example each of Chevy HHR, Cadillac DTS and Toyota Yaris Saloon as well as a 2011 Camry. All were on plates which start 6N......... the current issue is 6Z!
They had a few new Fusion (looks very smart), tagged Group F
Also several Mazda CX5
There was one lone Nissan Murano, which I tried (and failed to get) - it's a YQ and was plated last Sept so is fairly recent. The staff said they could not remember when they last saw one.
At LAX at least, the Audis and Jags are still some months away, they told me, and they also said they are getting the latest Viper.
They do have the Merc SLS GT Roadster (I did not dare ask how much it was!) as well as full complement of Porsche: Cayenne, Panamera, 911 and Boxster.

I had a 2010 Hyundai Accent (tagged as an ECAR at the time) without cruise control a few years ago, but that's the only Hertz vehicle I can ever recall renting without cruise control, so you'll most likely be ok. You can always swap for another CCAR on the lot if you don't want to pay for the upgrade.

Just had a Buick Verano from a NYC HLE - great car, very comfy seats, all the gadgets, good power, solid mileage (30+ mpg at 75-80mph). It was classified as an F, however. Given that it's built on the same platform as the Cruze, it's hard to see how it should be 2-3 classes higher. Maybe as a YC, I'd understand. If I needed space, and were expecting a Camry or Malibu, I wouldn't have been pleased.

Just had a Buick Verano from a NYC HLE - great car, very comfy seats, all the gadgets, good power, solid mileage (30+ mpg at 75-80mph). It was classified as an F, however. Given that it's built on the same platform as the Cruze, it's hard to see how it should be 2-3 classes higher. Maybe as a YC, I'd understand. If I needed space, and were expecting a Camry or Malibu, I wouldn't have been pleased.
Although, maybe it's a trial run, to see if it's worth having those in the fleet and at what class people are willing to accept them. At YC Hertz probably would be spending too much on the vehicle, but at F the car is probably the right cost.
My HLE had a Hyundai Genesis parked there last night (dropped off a car due back today). That was unusual for around here, although I see it is already in the list. Also there was a pickup, which I noticed someone else on here says they rent often but I've never actually seen on a Hertz lot. I don't remember what make/model, but it was an extended cab (not 4-door) pickup.
