For Gold & Plat there are BA Galleries and AA Admirals club. I don't know where no-status (or AY Silver) J pax are directed

according to One World page Ay pax are directed to No.1 Traveller Lounge. CX pax are directed to AA and/or No.1.
Finnair web has not been updated, it still says CX lounge.

I've visited there once about three years ago. It is one of the better 3rd party lounges but still a 3r party lounge so not equal to the CX. Decent drink offerings but no hot food to my recollection.

Personally I haven't but Blue Wings' reporter has. On November's issue, The No. 1 Traveller Lounge at LHR was ranked as the second best among luxurious lounges around the world. Here is a link, see pages 51 and 52:

http://issuu.com/headofficefinland/d..._09_2015_issuu

According to the article, the lounge offers salad buffet and hot meals from a la carte.

Ah, good to hear this! By its website I thought it was worse.

I'm not quite sure though about trusting the Blue Wings editor if he thinks it's the world's second best lounge.

True. But I hope she has triple checked facts on facilities and food offerings and that they are correct. Pictures looks nice when I googled the lounge, way better than AA's lounge IMO.

But what if Finnair Premium lounge just happens to be the best place on earth. In general, it's funny that they chose that lounge since most of the Blue Wing's readers can't even buy an access there, and one idea of the article was to introduce a few good lounges where a Sunday flyer could go.

Yeah, apparently they do serve "a la carte" meals, but the menu didn't look especially good, at least quickly read.

I hope someone will report back as soon as they test the lounge and its offerings! I might even have to sacrifice myself to this mission.

Someone more educated on aviation might know the answer of quite höpöhöpö-quality question:

Why do I see most of time the altitude of cruising at 12496 instead of max 13000 for A350 or 12500 for A330/340? I remember that value, seen it so often exactly at same level.

41 000 ft. Maybe some kind of US based standard flight level?
