How are you impacted by the 2015 change?
2013
From 150,000 MQMS
Earned 397,000 miles including Diamond, Class of service bonuses
Would under new system have earned (without Amex) 627,000
A 58% increase
2014
Flights booked and flown 67,000 MQM's
So far will earn 119,000 miles
Under new system have earned 257,000
A 115% increase
Not bad

-29% on 2013 (a few cheap transcon tickets really hurt me here)
+30% on miles earned so far in 2014. I think I'll come out ok with the changes. I'm flying more for status/MQMs than for redeemable miles, anyway.

I don't have specific numbers, but I earn a vast majority of my miles through AMEX. I am also a low ticket cost flyer, so this is certainly going to affect my earning based on revenue.
Time will only tell how the new redemptions are. If it's easier to redeem (at levels like UA has), then this could be an overall plus for me.

It hurts me a lot as I do a good number of NYC-SFO on Y.
On a $350 ticket - i currently get 10,334 while in the new system, I will get 2,800.

From my travel so far this year I've earned 23,500 miles on a combination of Y,B,M, and L fares. Under the 2015 rules I would have earned 11,500 miles. That's just under half as many miles. A huge decrease for me as a domestic flier who buys mid priced tickets.

This "per dollar spent" is not clear to me. Is that the same as MQD? Does not sound that way. If so, I will be getting a lot more under new system. Still more even is those are MQD.

How many trips is that? If you got 4 to 5 Y,B,M,S fares for only $1300, those are extremely cheap prices for those fare classes.

OK. Should have read the gray small print.
†Ticket price used to calculate miles earned includes base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, and excludes government-imposed taxes and fees. Tickets purchased in a foreign currency will be converted to USD at time of ticketing based on the IATA 5-day rate.
So, it will be a lot more RDM for me under the new system.

2 trips from the midwest to the west coast. One was around 900, the other around 700. I just multiplied my MQDs by 8 for the mileage under the new program since I assume they'll be using MQDs and not full ticket price I'm at just over $1,400 MQDs. Multiple fare classes because the trip out is usually on a high fare class but the trip back is on a cheaper fare class.

this will be a massive upgrade for me as a plat medallion
My spend so far this year is $7632 with about 15916 mqms which would translate to 68688 miles. I have gotten considerably less than that in the old regime so far. I will likely make diamond this year so it will be an even larger upgrade then.

It will hurt me. I fly Fra - Dtw and Fra - Lim and unless I buy full fare economy or Business class I will earn half of what I earn now. On the other hand if I pony up for those expensive fares I stand to earn a considerable amount of Skymiles. The thing is I like flying Delta. I like the product and I know what I am going to get. Comfortable and reliable flying experience. So I anticipate that I'll stay with Delta if for no other reason the other large American carriers will do the same in the future so makes no sense to jump ship IMO.

Just running my normal trip/airfare through the calculator, I'll lose 1300 miles every trip on DL
RDU-ANC
$1300
2014 - 15660
2015 - 14300
If I buy a cheaper ticket ($800) the loss is HUGE
