Seabourn- how to get the best fare?
I've traveled on Seabourn a few times but have booked 9-12 months in advance, so the fares have been quite high. I have a much more flexible schedule and will be able to travel without too much advance planning- when is the best time to book a cruise?
What is the lowest fare you've seen? How low will they go before they forgo booking the cabin?

I've been checking all my fare sale emails from Seabourn and have yet to see $195/day-- I'll keep on searching. Are the Seabourn emails the best place to find deals?
seabird- is $230/day been your best fare yet?

I saw $1,200 or $1,500 p.p. for a 9 day crossing. Just don't fancy an early December TATL crossing in a 5,000 GRT vessel though.

Seabourn will offer the cabin to interline, travel agent and friends and family rates before they severely undercut their retail price. There are some sailings that always sell out and crossings use to be like that.
I have over 200 days on Seabourn. They are the best.

12 or 13 days is the norm
I have been sailing Seabourn -14 cruises-- and have never seen $1200 or $1500 for a 9 day cruise--ever. I have never seen anything close to that. Years ago their prices were considerably higher per day than now.
Seabourn is the top line in the world--IMHO---and expecting substantive discounting is probably unrealistic.
For cruises in that price range, one needs to look at Carnival, RCCL, Celebrity, etc.

Get a good travel agent
We booked our recent Seabourn cruise 10 months in advance. Our travel agent continuously checked the rates on our cabin and as they came down she called Seabourn for us and we got the lower rate. I think the cost came down three or four times and we saved 1-2k pp total from when we booked to the time of our final payment.

Bingo... Sunny 1 has it nailed. In the luxury seg, find a great agent, local or otherwise and work with them on your trip. They can add a lot of value with shore events, SBC and even access to great private shore trips. A long time Seabourn client of mine was so pleased i booked her cruise in CAD as opposed to USD since the currency as been going like a yo-yo lately. Her "friend" who booked with somone online got a USD rate and of course an almost 3% uptick on the FX rate thanks to Amex
