Quite high, although QF WP did the honours
Left a little late because someone forgot to wake up, but we made good time on the road.
Of course it was the guy who stood up the night before and told everyone to be downstairs by 06:15...
We are now entering the Uluru area (and have cell reception)

Currently in the bar at Desert Gardens. Not sure where everyone else is but I know they got here earlier than expected on the bus.

The bar will need plenty of cold beers in about ~1 hour as a guess
...If we could all be checked out & ready to go at 0615 in order to maximise our viewing time at the various attractions.
< snip >
Pre-dinner nibbles & drinks while watching the sunset over Ayers Rock (Uluru) from the viewing platform.
Dinner - barbeque at the sunset viewing platform

I thought that as you arrived early you may have checked in at the hotels before heading out to the viewing area and we could meet up with you. I sent QF WP a message at 15:45 but haven't had a response.
We are on our balcony with a cold, crisp white, looking out on the rock. As Glenn would say... Wonder what the poor people are doing!

What a great BBQ at the Sunset viewing point.
All arrived at this total shambles of an Emu Walk Hotel set up. What a joke layout for ~$300 a night!
They can take my dough and spend it on SIGNAGE as to tell future hapless guests who arrive in darkness where the heck the place is and where the ROOMS actually are!
Drinks in Sarah's room this evening I think as there are a few bottles and nibbles left over .... she will I am sure advise the room number here .. and maybe not!
So those attending please bring along their wine glasses and any booze still in bags.
Glen

I can't say much better things about this Outback Pioneer, other than it being cheaper. I now see why people go back to Alice Springs in the same day. Had I known the Pioneer is just under 1km away from Emu Walk (according to googlemaps) , I'd of stuck around on the bus for the after party and walked back. But thanks again for an incredible, incredible DO and also to whoever noticed my other bag was still on the bus in the confusion of me getting off and getting it delivered to me. So thankful for that!

Safely back in my humble abode in BNE.
Thanks to ozbeachbabe and the rest of the organising committee for another wonderful Ozfest. Great to catch-up with old friends and meet new friends.
I will try to make next year's Ozfest in the Eastern States.
